Bad guys want to awaken/unleash dark god, unspeakable evil, destructive weapon, etc. is the least original.

It is basically the plot of most RPGs, shooters, etc.

They were all original at some point. Do you mean most overly used trope/plot?

"Rescuing someone who has been kidnapped" is basically the plot used for games that don't need a plot. I feel kinda bad chastising games that use it for being 'unoriginal' 'cause I doubt they ever intended their plots to be 'original' in the first place.

So yeah 'awaken evil god' wins.

You know the robots turn evil thing I surprisingly feel like I don't see often in games.

Classic Frankenstein's monster trope. Robots are just a more specific version, but basically falls under ones' own creation turns against them.

Truth be told, it's more just science fiction in general has been favoring this as a plot for a long time.

And the most common "plot" in video games is probably "Win the season." Thanks, sports games.

I know, I just am sitting here and actually not coming up with a lot of well known video game examples that fit that. Mega Man? If you expand 'robots' to 'any creature/monster/etc' then I guess the Resident Evil games sorta fit? Dino Crisis? Honestly I'm not drawing much, nowhere near as much as the other two plot examples at least.

Wasteland and Hard Reset are two that come to mind.
