Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, on stage now wearing a Battletoads shirt.
Obviously new Battletoads will be announced at end of this conference.

But then how would people troll Gamestop?DonSilvestre wrote:Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, on stage now wearing a Battletoads shirt.

So far they've announced a lot of stuff that's basically Microsoft putting a bunch of existing Steam features directly into Windows. Join game through friends list (and cross play with the Xbox), and just now in-home streaming from another device.

Hm, thought for sure there'd be a game announcement. Apparently not. Obviously Spencer is trolling everyone though and there's a game in development.MrPopo wrote:But then how would people troll Gamestop?DonSilvestre wrote:Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, on stage now wearing a Battletoads shirt.

why? Win10 feels like 7, but will offer more - including DX12, which is good for gamers. And it will be a free upgrade for 7 users. And before you know it 7 will stop receiving security updates. Don't get me wrong, I love 7. I think it's the best flavor of Windows personally. But having used the tech preview of 10, I can tell you that it's far closer to 7 than 8 ever was. And if DX12 benefits us gamers, then I can't really see any reason to not upgrade (for free).casterofdreams wrote:Windows 7 fo' life!

It's clear the Battletoads t-shirt is a troll; the upcoming Rare game is going to be Snake Rattle n Roll 2.

So free upgrade for Win7 and Win8 users and the ability to stream Xbone games from an Xbone. Hoping the free upgrade can come in iso form.

Here's the problem. Microsoft has already referred to Windows 10 as software as a service in their own promotional materials. And while it might be a free upgrade for the first year, the way Microsoft has been cagey with language suggests that when more details drop, we may find out there's a yearly subscription fee to use Windows 10.fastbilly1 wrote:So free upgrade for Win7 and Win8 users and the ability to stream Xbone games from an Xbone. I don't know how I feel about paying a yearly fee to be able to run Windows.

It just shows we have gone full circle. When they made Windows it was so you were not paying yearly for an OS. I agree that it is a worrisome development. I dont see me upgrading any of my main win7 pcs to it for the first couple years, but one of the gaming pcs will get the update. If they do go yearly, I will just downgrade back to win7 for it.marurun wrote:Here's the problem. I am curious to see how the corporate world looks at the subscription model. Considering that mine still uses IE7 for somethings, I dont see us upgrading.
