There was also the Dragon's Lair Trilogy release.

Doesn't even appear in Gamestops database.
another one I don't see on GameStop is Mr. Bean
I've had my eye on the Mr. Bean game. Have tried to keep an eye out for it in the wild at a couple local places that sell Wii games for $5 each. So far I've never came across it. May just break down and snag a new copy.

I thought this had been ported to (almost literally) everything.Cronozilla wrote:There was also the Dragon's Lair Trilogy release.
Can't you even get it on a playable DVD? Or was that just the first game?
It's pretty cool for what it is, though. Not exactly a landmark of gameplay innovation, but still fun in short bursts.

True there are so many ports, but this game (for landmark history) is one of the earliest forms of Quick Time Events gameplay way before Shenmue and God Of War coined the term. The Wii Dragons Lair version is the best. NO delays in loading screens and three complete different games of the original Arcade Laser games. Even the dreaded death scene is an instant load. You can also go into watch mode and see each game run thru to the finish. Oh and think of the Wii version as the "Criterion" cleaned up footage of the game, even surpassing the resolution of the original Laser Disc release. I have Wii and Gamecube Dragons Lair, Space Ace DVD and the original Dragons Lair Arcade Laser Disc, there really is a difference on each rendition in both game play and quality of the video.ejamer wrote:I thought this had been ported to (almost literally) everything.Cronozilla wrote:There was also the Dragon's Lair Trilogy release.

When talking about "gameplay innovation", I meant the type of gameplay I want to continue experiencing now as the instant death QTE isn't my favorite experience... but all of CRTGAMER's points are well taken.
And yes, I have enjoyed watch mode on the Wii disc. That's the only way I'll ever finish most of those games.

Re: Too early to start talking about rare/valuable Wii games
Thanks everyone, you reminded me that I needed Dragon's Lair Trilogy for my collection.

With this purchase, I've hit a milestone in my Wii collecting. I am now at 250 Wii games and it's been quite the fun journey collecting for the Wii. I've been actively collecting for the Wii since about 2011.
I've also enjoyed being part of this discussion for some time now. I love you guys!
I'll have to photograph the entire collection at some point.

nice, I think I'm around 250 wii games as well
Re: Too early to start talking about rare/valuable Wii games
Was that in a plastic baggie.
.......You have twice as many Wii games as I do total games. WOW
Re: Too early to start talking about rare/valuable Wii games
I guess I better step up my game.
I'm over 150 for the Wii at last count. Do you all also collect for Wii U yet?

My guess is he put it in that. I put all my games in those as well to prevent them from getting damaged. They are fairly cheap and do a nice job of keeping the games from getting shelf wear. Especially nice on sealed games to prevent any tears.bryan_65 wrote:Was that in a plastic baggie........You have twice as many Wii games as I do total games. WOW

Yes, I put them in sleeves to prevent shelf wear. It's a very inexpensive investment to keep things nice.
I wouldn't say I collect for the Wii U but I am always looking out for good deals. I do have a decent number of games for it though.
