Hi, hope this is the right forum for a find thread, as this is my first post. Apologizes if it is not. However I am not a SMS collector (Untill now) and my normal group of folks were not much on it (instead pefering the genesis and saturn) so i wanted to post here for any input:
I recently walked into a local second hand shop and made off with a master system (Model 1 tonka), The sports pad, the light gun, and four pads. Along with the 3D glasses and the 3D glasses adapter. The glasses are, sadly, a bit busted - one arm is broken off the side and only one of the lenses flickers to the give the 3d effect, so if you squint into the one it still kinda works. I've also discovered that the built in game with the power deck is Missle defense 3D, so apparently from internet research this console was a "segascope 3d" special bundle. Also included was the console's orinigal warranty card, a thank you for buying card "dear sega costumer", the glasses manual, lightphaser manual, and the console manual. All smell like new paper. Along with a bunch of orinigal sega myster system RF boxes and hookups of all sorts.
As i was walking out the door with the thing, a guy from the store stopped me and said they had a bunch of games in the back with the items they hadn't sorted through let and if i would wait a minute and was interested, he would go back and get them. So he did. So i now also have phantasy star in box, with a poster insert and the manual, along with the actual cart that works perfect. Bunch of other games to, but nothing awesome: Rambo III, blade eagle 3D, Rescue Mission, Bunch of football games, Choplifter and a few others, all in the same condition. The only odd thing is the rambo cart has a 'Sega for the 90s! future generations!' little sega logo sticker stuck on it on the brown top. I'am not sure of the exact wording as i dont have it here with me now, but i'am not sure if this was a rental shop sticker or anything of that sort.
I paid $30 USD for the whole lot. I dont think anything here is pretty rare, but i'd be curious if any of it is rare or unique. Thanks!
Good Find?
Re: Good Find?
I'd say the Tonka system is pretty rare, I'd also say you made out pretty well.WahWah wrote:Hi, hope this is the right forum for a find thread, as this is my first post. Apologizes if it is not. Re: Good Find?
That is a really good deal. Nice find. Make sure you play Phantasy Star. It's one of the finest 8-bit RPGs period.
