Calling = Sub par survival horror. Think Fatal Frame but crappier.
Castle of Shikigami III = Shmup. Similar to KoF Sky Stage. I haven't seen much interest in it from the hardcore STG crowd.
Deadly Creatures = Super mega awesome 3D platformer/fighter. If you're never gonna play it anyway, just YouTube how you defeat the final boss. Highly recommended by me.
Fragile Dreams = Haven't played it yet. Looked like a neat game with a spooky setting.
To be honest, Calling is an overpriced / low print / end of Hudson game and the rest are hidden gems. I don't see any of them being the Mario 64 or Conker's BFD of the Wii.
List: Best 30 Wii Games plus Ghost Squad (10 years from now)

Battalion Wars 2 was also a fun game that gets entirely ignored.

IMO, Red Steel 2 was greatly more refined, and did everything that the 1st one was trying to accomplish, and very well.
One question I have is about Ghost Squad. Isn't that just a generic arcade shooter? I've never played it, but I remember picking it up on a few occasions at various places, and it just looked very plain to me.
Also, I think that the NMH games should be included on the list because they are good titles in their own repects, but also due to the fact that they are so far left-field of most other fare offered on the console.

No idea. I've never played it either but I think it got 5 mentions already.foxhound1022 wrote:One question I have is about Ghost Squad. Isn't that just a generic arcade shooter?

It should be mentioned in due respect to our host that Racketboy publishes "that still matter today" lists for systems that are essentially the same qualifications as this thread. Is someone preparing an article draft?
My suggestions would be Sin and Punishment, the Klonoa remake, and Dead Space Extraction. I think the digital release of Dead Space Extraction on other platforms is not relevant for this question because there's every chance that those digital storefronts will be shut down in ten years.

Ghost Squad is a Sega rail shooter. Sorta like Virtua Cop. The main difference is the over the top cliches that bring it to the point of hilarity. I really can't see it being a solid must-play game ten years from now.

Agree with most of this.Omerta wrote:Calling = Sub par survival horror. Think Fatal Frame but crappier.

Deadly Creatures is definitely a good game that is routinely overlooked. Another that would be on my list if I expanded it beyond 25. Hopefully this is one that gets a little more love as gamers/collectors dig deeper into the library.
Calling would only be on my shelf for it's collectability and even that's debatable depending on how many were reprinted. It currently doesn't appear it will be rare since it's been reprinted and seems readily available at most Gamestops and a lot of new copies are all over Amazon and eBay and have been under $20 for a new copy. Obviously it depends on the size of the reprint but I'd guess the reprint significantly hurt it's collectability. Most weren't buying copies because it was a must play title based off gameplay.
Fragile Dreams is a unique experience. I like the art direction and it uses pointer controls to control a flashlight. I enjoyed the setting and environments a lot. I couldn't put my finger on it but it feels like something holds it back from being great. It's definitely a good game and I expect others will have it on their list and it will definitely remain in my own collection but I think it could have been a great game rather than a good game.
Re: Compiled List: Best Wii Games (10 years from now)
I have to agree with Deadly Creatures being something special.

Same version but prettier and with more levels, characters, etc.mjmjr25 wrote: Muremasa (is the Vita version the same game or a sequel?)
