Nintendo 3DS
Re: Nintendo 3DS
Starfox and Yoshi definitely show a different. Starfox seems right and Yoshi that is blurring up that background to the point it's dimming the colors. That's not normal I don't believe.
I do have an ambassador account, suppose I could fire up the game and see if it just sucks alone or you have an issue.

Yeah the problem is I've transferred my ambassador certificate to my New 3DS so I don't have any way to compare. I don't remember it being that bad though.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Wow Yoshi's Island was wretched insofar as the pixel response time is concerned. I wonder if this is a gaming in 2D on the New 3DS thing, or if it's only a Virtual Console thing? It would be interesting to see if anyone else who owns a New 3DS has experienced this blurry mess.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: Nintendo 3DS
Reading the last few comments about the screen refresh rate I had to test it on my "old" 3ds XL, fired up Yoshi's Island, went to the same level as the video, and it looks just as bad on my 3ds. I would chalk it up to bad emulation or something, and dont think it has anything to do with the New 3ds screen.

I wonder if Super Mario Advance 3 looked as bad on Gameboy Advance. I don't have a copy to test. Would anyone like to do the honours? Could just be a weird scanline trick the game uses to half the bandwidth required to display the game as it's quite demanding.

I can check this when I get home, I have the game.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
I'd love to hear that too. I had the game a few months ago but never put much time into it before selling it off, but now that I think about it, it may have been softening up a bit on there too. I find it odd that emulation on the VC would blur a background so badly, but at least it's not the 3DS of any particular model causing it so far unless it's all of them which that test will help solve.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
I have never seen this ghosting effect on the GBA version and I play it quite regularly. Here's a shot of the GBA version on the Retron:
