The recent 3DS Kirby Game. It's based on the same engine (at least it seems that way) and feels like a step up from Return to Dreamland.dsheinem wrote:What is Triple Deluxe?AppleQueso wrote:Retrun to Dreamland is really not getting much love. Return to Dreamland seemed to fall out of print really quickly. I never got it and now it's out of my price range. Same goes for the Wii Fire Emblem, unfortunately. A shame because both games look awesome.AppleQueso wrote:Retrun to Dreamland is really not getting much love. Yeah, I rented Return to Dreamland initially, and had a blast with it. Figuring it would come down somewhat later on, I held off on buying it. Dumb move, apparently.

Return to Dreamland is a good game and all but Epic Yarn is superior in almost every way. I wouldn't pay more than £30/$50 for it.

The Wii has some really great games that are just fun to play for a retro fan. Its also a great system for a family
Re: Compiled List: Best Wii Games (10 years from now)
It's a shame that we are 4 pages in and nobody has mentioned Trauma Team (or the earlier Trauma Center games).
My list of "best games" is outlined below. I'm generally not giving sequels a separate entry, but mention the ones that I consider worth owning.

First list updated in the OP - please continue to argue for and against...
Re: Compiled List: Best Wii Games (10 years from now)
I think the list in the first post is pretty solid. Those are certainly all titles that I'd want to keep. The only thing that may be debatable is Mario Galaxy and Donkey Kong Country Returns. Not because either of them are bad, but because, as stated in the first post, their sequels Galaxy 2 and Tropical Freeze, improve upon their predecessors. My personal substitution for one of those would be No More Heroes.
Other than that, I would give the list two thumbs up.

Re: Compiled List: Best Wii Games (10 years from now)
Personally I mostly tend to agree. Particularly on DCKR, but it does keep getting mentions. I'll likely keep all 3 myself - but if I had to widdle down to 25, DCKR wouldn't make the cut for me. Let's see as opinions continue to come in...
Re: Compiled List: Best Wii Games (10 years from now)
Here's my list, alphabetical order.
1. Dead Space Extraction - Excellent rails shooter.
2. Ivy the Kiwi - Lovely showing by Yuji Naka and very cool, did new games draw influence or was it Ivy the Kiwi that borrowed gameplay elements?
3. Kirby Epic Yarn
4. Last Story - Great voice acting.
5. Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword - Would have loved a bit more non-linear gameplay, but it was good.
6. Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess - Loved it.
7. Mario Kart Wii
8. Metroid Prime Trilogy - Can't be beat.
9. Monster Hunter Tri
10. New Super Mario Brothers Wii - 4 Player shenanigans, might be overshadowed by the Wii-U version or future titles, but I think it still is worth its salt.
11. Punch Out - Great homage to the original titles and is still all about that rhythm and pattern recognition.
12. Sin & Punishment: Star Successor - Treasure. What else needs to be said.
13. Sonic Colors - Best Wii Sonic title hands down. Great controller variety too.
14. Super Mario Galaxy - Lovely!
15. Super Mario Galaxy 2
16. Super Smash Brothers Brawl – I think it will still be good in terms of the evolution of the series. First with online (albeit friend codes).
17. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom
18. Xenoblade Chronicles - Cult following, was a great action RPG.
19. Wario Land Shake It
20. Wario Ware Smooth Moves - Such a fun little party game.
21. Wii Sports
