True story. We had a Chinese place close down probably 15 years ago now - after an anonymous employee tip to someone it got to the health department and they were found to be using seagull meat in a lot of their dishes (their are hundreds of thousands of gulls around the shores of Lake Superior).
Dave - is your question for me...or for someone else who just posted?

For you. I am wondering if these are the only two options near you aside from the place you typically go and that's why you are asking or, instead, if you will be traveling somewhere to get to these (somewhere that there may, in fact, be a better option).
They are both about 25 minutes away. The closest restaurants are 15 minutes so it isn't much further and we've never been to either of these.
If you saw my post I think on top of this page, or maybe page 3, we have 2 locally owned Mexican joints we normally go to, but they hear about these places from friends at school and really wanted to try one after church today.

Well, they certainly should try them if that's the case. Then they'll (hopefully) know how they compare to the real thing.

Yeah now that I mention it I wonder what is actually in those beef tacos...good thing I don't eat there, I'd rather eat at Moe's, Qdoba, or Chipotle(not in that order). Moe's is a little questionable lately though, since my sis did get sick off it(and my dad did too the last time they reattempted it and now they won't step food in the place). I know prfsnl told me to try a place in a local flea but I haven't been able to make it up there and know which one he was talking about(there's like 2 or 3 last I checked plus a place that sells churros o_O and I haven't been back to the flea in a few months even though it's decent as long as you avoid going inside for games...stupid moron inside was selling a stickered n64 with what looked like no hookups or anything for 60 )

The beauty of Mexican and South American food is the time you spend with others making and cooking it. Time is money, but they call it "Free Time" for a reason. Use it wisely, and most of the time, time is best spent around a fantastic meal. We even have a holiday for just that.
I have family in Venezuela and friends from Honduras. When I visit them, we usually spend the entire day getting ready for dinner while speaking the entire time. And it's never "when will this person shut up?" it is always "tell me more!".
"There is a quick way and there is the right way " is often said. More than likely it is a generational "thing" other than a cultural "thing" as spending time with friends and family while cooking is global.
And I get on a soapbox:
To me, going to a restaurant is a luxury. Not that I can't afford it, but it seems so unnecessary. I could feed a family of eight for the cost of one Grand Slam breakfast, plus coffee. In my entire life I can only think of a few times when dining at a restaurant where I didn't think "I could have made this better, and at a lower cost".
Gets off soapbox and begins to be a hypocrite:
In the few times I was amazed at the food from a restaurant, it was because I could not get my paws on the ingredients.
Uni, being one of them.
I cherish fresh Uni. It tastes nothing like an oyster, yet it reminds me of a fine oyster as it tastes like swallowing an entire body of water. Nothing else on our little planet tastes quite like it.
Back to the short answer:
Mike, if you go to Chipotle tell them your name is Marco.
One of the small pleasures in my life is never revealing my actual name at a restaurant.

BROTHER!
Yeah I'm in the "Don't particularly like Mexican food" camp, other than a basic rice/meat/cheese burrito or a meat/cheese quesadilla occasionally... but I do get cravings for one of those 2 from time to time.
It's not that I don't like Mexican food, it's that Mexican food, like Asian food, involves way too many vegetables. And we all know vegetables are a poison. So I'll pick up items that I can either get as a meat & grain & sauce thing or can easily pick out the meat and still get a decently sized meal.

Does your Moe's do the "Welcome to Moe's!" thingy?
