feeding 2 tv's with one PS3 at the same time.

Post by nate »

hey all...what's the cheapest way to get one PS3 to display on 2 tvs at the same time ?

in my odd living arrangement I need to do this sometimes. I have a sony dvd player and that would feed one tv via component cords and another via HDMI at the same time. but I'm told a PS3 won't do it.

I bought a cheap-o hdmi splitter and that was garbage. no signal on either set.

I'm not talking split screen games or anything, just display the same thing on 2 screens.

thanks :)

as far as i know. No it will not work, and if it did, why would you want to? I dont see why you would NEED to have 2 TV's showing the exact same thing.

Sony had claimed that it would be able to do dual hdmi and 1080p, but like alot of the things they said back then it didn't come anywhere close to happening.

well, I need to weather you see why or not
anyway is there a cheap signal boost box or ...?
maybe I need to ask at the TV store how they pump the same content to 20 tv's at once.

Could you convert the signal to VGA and use a VGA splitter? We used this method for a Rockband tournament a couple weeks ago - but that was with a 360. I am unaware of how the PS3 signal outputs. Ofcourse you could always go the RCA route, but that would kinda be pointless for bluray.

Unfortunately, Sony pulled that feature, and many of the other features. (ie. the extra two Ethernet ports) I was pretty pissed when I found that out because that was the feature I was looking forward to most. (I hate sharing my screen)
