You realize your bitterness does nothing to help improve the situation, right?

Earlier in the thread, a few of us pointed out that we suspected mysogyny played a part in this. I suspect a lot of it had to do with change in general, but since all of the characters being criticized were female, it seemed likely that this factored into the case.

But this: "But anyone complaining about that in gaming communities is an sjw professional victim cultural marxist trying to attack gamers" gets us nowhere and only manages to continue cementing the division that has developed over the issue. Yes, you're upset, and it's easy to give in to anger, but it will do nothing to help things change. And you're better than this, and you know it. Instead of letting people like this guy hold you back and make you angry, you have to be better, the best you can be. Otherwise his views will just reinforce themselves and make him more resistant to change.

I was angry/upset when posting (not specifically at this. I rarely get mad at video games anymore) and so it came off a bit more bitter than I had intended, but I do think that people should be called out on misogynistic behavior, not left to do whatever because "it'll only reinforce it"

Lets see… Mk8, Mario golf on 3ds as Dlc, 3dworld as a secret character, Smash bros 4, and more recently Mario Party 10. The fact Nintendo promotes her so much and people praise her is just disgusting. I hate her fans too I know for a fact her amiibo will be among one of the most popular which is why I took the time to wait and preorder over 100 of her. I do not want her fans to be happy I hate Rosalina as a character and I will enjoy selling her for big bucks.
...What's wrong with Rosalina? :?

No reason to bring politics into something that isn't blatantly political.

Could be a woman hater. Could be a scumbag reseller. Could be both. Could be neither. All we know is that he's doing asshole things, and whether the reason he claims are the actual reason doesn't really matter.

Like I said earlier, this dude is the Nintendo equivalent of Sonichu. I don't need to know either of their political affiliations to hold them in contempt, whether they share or contradict my own.

Of course, hence why several of us pointed it out that we felt that way too, while others pointed out that there might be other reason, but our general reaction to this was scorn. That wasn't the part I was objecting to. It was the part after, where you mentally imposed a sarcastic response to your statement. "I think this is mysogynist, but this is what they will say because I expressed my view."

The problem is, who is the 'they' in this situation? Am I the 'they'? Because I don't think you're a "journalist victim" and so on and so on. Yet the way you framed your statement may alienate me.

Anyway, I am saying this not as some sort of political statement on gender in video games or inclusiveness. More so, this is a discussion on language and not alienating an audience that could potentially support you. Unfortunately in a situation like this with the ongoing games/gender/journalism debate, it tends to devolve until either someone becomes the bigger person or until everyone gets mad. I prefer to think that we here at Racketboy are capable of being the bigger person and setting an example for how games can be welcoming to everyone. So I'm highlighting your language choice and urging you to instead set a better example for why folks like this guy should be willing to accept you. It will take time, but eventually these guys will fade away. They always do.

misogyny isn't really "politics" and this dude is for sure a misogynist.

Wasn't talking about this dude's actions, I was talking about the reactions to the actions of this dude.

My point basically being that all of us can unite in hating this dude's actions so there's no reason to throw in political bull that only seeks to divide.

This.

And what makes this funnier is that literally two weeks before this, Chris-Chan (guy who made Sonichu) decided it'd be smart to vandalize Sonic Boom stuff at a GameStop because, "Sonic's arms are blue and not tan."

lol

You don't need to have money to spend money.
