People on Nintendoage already trying to flip preorders, just shameful, but then again not surprising.

Re: Majora's Mask 3D coming soon
I guess today Best Buy had more stock of the Majora's Mask Limited Edition. I completely missed it.
Re: Majora's Mask 3D coming soon
So I caught up on the nintendo direct info around 8:30 am PST, by the time I read about the Majoras mask 3ds xl, it was all too late to pre order from the GS site. I decided to take a trip to my nearest game stop and see if I could luck out there and there were 2 other guys there waiting to do the same, the store didnt open for about an hour.
The manager showed up about 30 minutes later, and said he would check to see if it was possible to pre order them still, he came out a few minutes later and said that all of their stock was gone. I guess even the in store orders were coming from one "pool" of stock, and since the East coast had a 3 hour lead time on us, they bought them all up already.
Bummed I went on my way, hoping to snag a pre order elsewhere. The best buy 3ds section was down most of the day, but then I found a link to a pre order page for best buy, and it wasn't sold out! I quickly got my order in (and they had no problem charging my card the full amount right away) and am happy that I was able to snag it for the normal retail price.

Maybe it's time to give this game another chance? I used to love Ocarina and not care for this, but when I played the 3DS remake I noticed it hasn't aged well/my tastes have changed, so maybe now I will enjoy this more?

Nintendo should have just screwed with everyone by only producing three special editions and selling them in the New York store.

No Nintendo should screw the scalpers and the people supporting them by making another batch.Opa Opa wrote:Nintendo should have just screwed with everyone by only producing three special editions and selling them in the New York store.

That surprises you? The same place that sells warez on a regular basis over the years with stolen prototypes they "legally" buy up or other Japanese games into English they make limited CIB pressings of. The people who buy those up in moments to then either hold onto those warez packages to flip them for a crap load more cash on there or ebay months later? They're what's wrong in classic gaming so it's no surprise the habit would roll into screwing people on new stuff too to make a buck.ninjainspandex wrote:People on Nintendoage already trying to flip preorders, just shameful, but then again not surprising.
Definitely. After how many people were getting fucked over by these piece of garbage over the Wii Mario Allstars package they decided to blow out a second run larger than the first which overnight devalued the crap out of those scalper priced games causing huge amounts of chatter online. You had the scalpers bitching Nintendo screwed them and that it was a lie calling it a limited edition (because the butthurt fuckers lost money dumping extras) and those who wanted it were cheering they didn't have to get screwed to get the game.ninjainspandex wrote:Nintendo should have just screwed with everyone by only producing three special editions and selling them in the New York store.
I wish gaming companies would just do this as a regular practice. If scalpers pull this shit, make more and more runs devaluing their abuse so they quit. In the end the only one who loses are the scalpers as Nintendo, their retail partners and the gamers would get what they wanted and not for 2-3x the price or more. That's the only way I can see how to handle scalpers as you can't really limit sales easily by store.

^ Can you elaborate above on the NA thing? I know a lot of people on there sell "homemade" repros with "limited edition" boxes and stuff. Is that what you mean?
