I can't even deal with the "regular" prices of Limited Editions, let alone this reseller nonsense. I'll get the vanilla version of the game before the end of the year, hopefully for $30 or so.

So apparently there was a Limited Edition Majoras Mask New 3DS, and it sold out in like 15 minutes http://kotaku.com/psa-the-majoras-mask- ... 1679470703

Seriously,

I'm not going to bother with the New 3DS or the Limited Edition with the statue.

I wonder if there's a high degree of buyer's remorse down the road, when people buy these things for absurd prices. $549 for the 3DS and the Limited Edition bundled together, as a pre-order, when they're not even in hand. I just don't understand such foolishness.

I'll up your disgust to wishing death -- here's a link to those that 'sold'

How fun! Buy it for $300-400 shipped, what a deal!

Blu: Probably and they deserve every ounce of it and then some for feeding the scalper losers.

Shame ebay doesn't ban presells, not that it would change much but at least that stuff wouldn't be on there until the item was in hand.

Wow. This is all very disgusting. Between the system and the game (not to mention all the amiibos that haven't even been released yet showing up on the right sidebar) and how quickly everything seems to have been snatched up, I'm shocked I was able to get the damn LE game at all. I really didn't realize how lucky I was. Thanks for posting the link when you did, bmoc!

Is it so hard for retailers to limit LE pre-orders to one per person, especially if they are -that- limited? It seems to me that would be the easiest way to curb this instant scalpers market. In Canada, the regular version is $44.99 and the LE is $54.99. Common sense dictates that the $10 figurine is nothing to get your panties in a wad about.

It's just a piece of plastic and a larger cardboard box. If people don't feed the scalpers, they don't buy this stuff up in the hopes of creating artificial scarcity.

I doubt there's a lot of incentive from the retailers. They get the same amount of money either way after all.

'spose you're right. Still seems silly though. Although at this point I don't know what's sillier, those scrambling to watch inflated eBay auctions for the chance to overpay for the $10 bit of plastic, or the fact that there were that few in the supply chain.

I'll bet you can walk into your favourite gaming watering hole of choice and pick one up on release day.
