Score! EB is good for something...

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

If so, that's an incredibly shady manager that's letting that go down. In no way is that something that gamestop as a whole does.

Also, I'm not trying to defend gamestop, they really are a terrible company, and have (or at least when I was there ~3 years ago) one of, if not the highest, turnover rates in the industry. They treat employees at the store level like garbage (district managers are grossly overpaid, store managers make a pittance), and practically have a monopoly on B+M used games sales since purchasing EB games(smaller outfits exist, of course, but none with nearly the presence of gamestop)

And as to the person that commented about them not selling Dawn of War II because it couldn't be resold...they don't trade-in/sell any used PC games anyways.

Gamestop blows big floppy donkey b@!!$. I had the same story as lord with Yakuza 2. Yeah, it ended the same way as well. There games are overpriced, have WAY to many stickers on them, half of the used selection is scratched to hell or in really bad condition. Those fucking stickers are impossible to remove. Fuck GameStop they suck.

You have no idea about the stickers. I found a copy of Metal Gear Solid:The Twin Snakes, and not only did they plaster it with stickers, they put the on the ACTUAL artwork themselves underneath the plastic on the case!! I didnt notice till I got home and I was fucking pissed. Some patience and time later I got them all off and you cant tell, but talk about an unecessary pain in my ass

They do that in RI and MA as well. It breaks my heart to see rare games ruined by shitty yellow stickers. That is one of the main reasons I refuse to shop there. I been loving craigslist, fleamarkets, ma and pa gamestores and online merchants lately. I want start hitting pawnshops to see what I find. GameStop blows when considering there are so many better alternatives.

I'm pretty sure the GS I went to recently buys used from other places then marks them up for resale.

My copy of Viewtiful Joe had a $4.99 sticker on it, and under that sticker was a $2.99 sticker from another store (don't know what store though).

That and the case was about as haggard as you can get, I cut my losses and threw it into a new DVD case.
Systems: Atari 2600, Atari Jaguar, NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, Genesis 3, Genesis 2, 32X, Sega CD (model 2), Saturn (model 1), Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox (Modded), Xbox 360, GameBoy, GBA SP, Game Gear, PSP... always adding more

Or somebody had bought it used from the other store originally, and then when they wanted to trade it in, they went to gamestop....

That seems like the more likely answer. I don't think any retailer, much less Gamestop, would go through that much trouble. Also, I think I remember Viewtiful Joe being 2.99 at Gamestop for a while (I bought it then) and has gone up to 4.99 since. I could be wrong though.

ugh, i found a copy of Resident Evil (Gamecube) today at my local game store for $12.00, but it was previous gamestop game, so it has this hideous sticker on the top corner of the manual. Fuck you gamestop, why, you're even infecting stores that aren't yours.

EDIT: Okay fuck, they even put stickers on the insert under the case. so directly on the paper insert. fuck seriously, why.
