The Controller S for XBOX is pretty good, very much a smidge short of the goodness that is the 360 controller... excepting the d-pad for the 360. I think it was better on the S, even if it was a tad mushy.
I've got a black version of that Logitech controller, and it is pretty good. I think mine is slightly defective, the analog triggers are too sensitive, and tend to want to fire until you give them a full input. That came out about the same time as the versions they made for the PS2, as well, and let me tell you, they kick the mess out of the Dual Shock.
Looking at that list of controllers, they kinda skipped the digital-only PS1 controller. The Dual Shock definitely wasn't out for the launch of the PS1.

The WiiU tablet pad is missing too jumping straight to the Pro controller. I get not having the Wii one, it was a choice, but the Wii U one is in every box as it's 1/2 the system.

Since the discussion is revolving around controllers at the moment, PC Gamer seems to feel that the best PC controller is a PS4 controller. Pretty timely article. I agree wholeheartedly with this -- especially if you're prone to playing anything that requires precise control (Super Meat Boy is used as an example). In a world where the 360/One controllers get a lot of love simply because they're kind of the default, it's good to see others honestly drawing attention to their shortcomings and finding better solutions.

Can you connect to a PC with a USB cable? Or is it only with Bluetooth?irixith wrote:Since the discussion is revolving around controllers at the moment, PC Gamer seems to feel that the best PC controller is a PS4 controller. If the Dreamcast had bumper buttons and a second analog stick (both clickable), it would be my favorite controller ever. Alas, that nod goes to the GameCube pad - a controller so comfortable and functional, Nintendo is still allowing compatibility for it two generations later.

Has anyone checked to see if the new controllers being produced are compatible with the GameCube?lisalover1 wrote:If the Dreamcast had bumper buttons and a second analog stick (both clickable), it would be my favorite controller ever. You mean the Smash Bros. ones? They're exactly the same as regular Gamecube controllers, and yes, they do work with Gamecube.casterofdreams wrote:Has anyone checked to see if the new controllers being produced are compatible with the GameCube?

You can definitely connect via USB...in fact, it's probably the better option due to bluetooth being well...bluetooth.Stark wrote:Can you connect to a PC with a USB cable? That's pretty awesome. Man they are still making controllers that can be used for a system that came out almost 15 years ago!3DSStrider wrote:You mean the Smash Bros. ones? Yall are all crazy. The Activator is the best input device ever created, trailed slightly by the triumverate of U-Force/Turbo Touch 360/Power Glove.
