Brandish: The Dark Revenant is supposed to be released on the PlayStation Store TODAY. Forgive my excitement, but I thought this day would never come. What's this? It's a wicked dungeon crawler by none other than Falcom! And in English, officially, finally. This may very well be the final official English PSP release we get guys. And even though there's not a digital release, it's still worth downloading for dat OST alone. (Go to the official site above, and listen to the streaming OST, seriously.) Some screenshots:

MrPopo, BoneSnapDeez, Sarge... get on this. 8)

And yes it is Vita compatible.

I just want to add that the cover art for that game is the worst ever. It is even worse than the cover art for the original Mega Man.

I like the cover personally, although she looks a bit constipated in the face. A scantily clad sorceress has been a cover meme for this series for over 20 years now though, so there's a historic aspect here.

That cover looks straight out of a D&D Expansion pack from the early 90s.

I just fired up the old PSP and downloaded my PSP cross-buys since my memory stick was untouched. Going through my library there and flagging some titles to move.

Yes it does! Turns out the cover for the PSP version was actually ripped from the PC98 renewal version.

And some other covers demonstrating the "meme" I was referring to (mildly NSFW):

I should mention the sorceress is a playable character, so it makes at least a little sense she's on the covers.

It's not that. It is the way she is rendered. Her anatomy is all wrong (and not in a fun, exaggerated sort of way). At the very least, her left humerus is fractured and her right shoulder is dislocated.

Dude. She's a sorceress. She's using black magic to make her joints all gooey and bendy.

Yea, I'd like to bend her over.
