Mega Man The Wily Wars Box Art Question

Post by eDrinker »

Hello,

I recently purchased a copy of "Megaman The Wily Wars". I understand PAL is quite rare and I shop on ebay spain. I am pretty sure it's a repo cart due to its price.

Can someone please explain to me where this box art comes from:

I understand the real pal art for PAL is the below and there is another version for Genesis:

Thanks,

Looks like a custom cover. The cart might not be repro, but someone possibly replaced the cover.

you need to buy a game bit to open the cart and look at the chip, if it is a windowed EEPROM or a glop top its a boot.

There are also non windowed 'burn once' chips too, but a real board should say likely say Sega on it. I know there were Konami and Accolade boards made too, but not sure about Capcom. Still, there should be some legitimate looking markings and it should look pretty similar to other known real card boards.

Thanks for the reply guys. After a recent trip to Japan I started collecting again and this is just the forum I've been looking for.

Just out of interest, how does it affect the price if the cart was real but the cover had been replaced. I'm not planning on selling, I have a few other minor rares as well.

Thanks,

Oz

Ok, it turned out to be a repo. A bad one at that.

Thanks for the advice and information.

Sucks, but at least you get to play the game on real hardware, right?
