Your most valuable game?

Post by Qweetix »

Hi there... I was wondering which valuable games you guys got in your collection? It would be great with a little story about how you got it :)

I'll start. I got three valuable games, Mr. Gimmick (NES), The Flintstones - The Surprice At Dinosaur Peak (NES) and Starwing Super Weekend (SNES) Here in Europe, these are some of the most valuable games. All of them are PAL...

Mr. Gimmick is about £130-150 - loose
Surprice At Dinosaur Peak is about £140 - loose
Starwing Super Weekend is about £120 - loose

Mine is Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru aka Psychic Killer Taromaru for the SEGA Saturn complete in box, with the sticker, spine & registration card - got it a while back for just over £100, making it the most expensive game i've ever paid for.

There aren't any copies on ebay at the moment, but the last one was in the US and went with 22 bids for a staggering £222/$306;

*edit, P.S - welcome to the forums :)

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence Limited Edition. I got it for $10 at a pawn shop, but it goes for $150 online. Even more factory sealed.

I usually try to stay within decent boundaries though. I have paid about $60 for some Saturn/PSX games, but I can usually justify that by "Well, a new game would cost that much, so..."

Hmm... to answer this question I would have to figure out what game I played the most.
I don't collect games for worth, I collect to play them... there is nothing wrong with collecting them because they are valuable, but to me a game's value depends on how much entertainment I got for my initial investment.
So I guess that I would have to say that Super Mario/Duck Hunt may be my most valuable game.

Perhaps Alien Soldier or Radiant Silvergun...
 (FC, AVFC, NES, SFC x2, SNES, N64, GC x2, Wii x2)*(G&W x7, GB, GBpocket, GBASP, DS-L x2)

That's tough since some of the games I have don't really have a going price. I do have:

Sealed Final Fantasy (NES)
3 Third Party Atari 2600 Prototypes (2 Imagic and 1 Activision)
Sega Mega CD Prototype of Detonator Organ
Complete Copy of Phantasy Star for the Sega Mark-III

When I got my Saturn I picked up a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga. That's definately the most expensive game I've got if we disallow the fact that Steel Battalion is expensive due to the controller.
