Today's "I LOVE YOU MAN!" goes out to the one like Hobie-wan!

Hobie may hate the things that everybody loves, like Deus Ex and Christmas, but he's still an upright guy. And hey, at least he played Deus Ex all the way through before coming to an unpopular judgment (I on the other hand have praised it, but still not beaten it), and he's the only person I have met who complains about Christmas obligations to buy presents at a specific time of the year who actually does buy presents for people at other times of the year! Most Christmas haters just pretend they do that because they don't want to buy presents at Christmas either. Hobie on the other hand, added a much appreciated copy of The Stanley Parable to my Steam library without prompt or holiday to instigate it. He's just a nice guy.

The other thing I like about Hobie is that we see eye-to-eye on a lot of music and I think he is probably the only member on this forum who can actually school me on 90s industrial music, which I like to think I know a lot about. He can wax about trax all day. He's also super helpful about technical stuff. There have been times when I've been reduced to saying "Help me Hobie-wan. You're my only hope." and he totally delivered! So Hobie, I love you man!

I concur, Hobie is awesome. Dude could wear sunglasses at night and still be cool. Daily love you man posts are the best thing since googly eye games.

SO HE CAN, SOOOOOOOOO HE CAN --

8)

Sorry for that. You see, Hobie and I were just discussing this song a few weeks ago -- and by "discussing," I mean, "I was harassing him by shouting that one line at every opportunity and giggling hysterically, because this is the kind of friendship we have, the poor guy."

Here's a quick and incomplete list of quick and incomplete reasons:

Hobie-wan: Because you continue tolerating my company despite my personal flaws (see above).

J T: Because you're making these wonderful Reading Rainbow-esque posts that highlight the joys of different Racketfolks.

pierrot: Because we're having a spontaneous conversation about the N163 NES chip on Backloggery, and I think that's super cool.

BoneSnapDeez: Because your gushing love for your daughter brightens my day.

AppleQueso: Because you're so excited to embrace life authentically and want to share that with other people.

CFFJR: Because... I just do!

Dsh: Because you drop the knowledge.

prfsnl_gmr: Because you also drop the knowledge, and because your avatar wears a cravat while doing it.

ZeroAX: Because you engage in sincere debate with people on the boards, and it's not about "winning" to you.

Flake: Because I often get to kick back and watch you eloquently argue my own opinions on things.

jp1: Because when you think you've crossed a line, you offer an apology. Also, MUDS.

That's a reason that honestly warms my heart. Thanks Key, love you too! Please continue to rock the way that only you do.

I still dig those music box tunes by the way. :D

Today's "I Love You Man!" goes out to an awesome Aussie, the one they call emwearz!

With his Scarface avatar, I've always assumed he's a bit of a bad ass, and as I've come to know him on the forums and in Steam chats, he does have a loveable bit of badboy attitude about him. For a taste of that personality, check out his YouTube series "The Old Bits", linked in his signature. They're worth watching for his fast-talking, whip smart commentary.

He's a lover of hard FPS games, point n' click adventures, and of course, pinball, pinball, pinball. I'm not sure if he's a deaf, dumb, and blind kid with a supple wrist, but he's definitely a pinball wizard. He's tried to coax me into competition, which I oblige to because I love pinball too, but god's truth is I don't stand a chance. He's even given me pinball tutoring over Steam chat to have some hope of wrestling with one of his top scores, which was really kind, though I still didn't have a prayer. He's a good sport about thwomping me though, so I'm sure I'll fire up the old Pinball FX2 again soon.

Cheers to the man down under! Emwearz, I love you man!

Today's "I Love You Man" goes out to our very own ubermensch and angry ape, Ack!

Ack is a longtime member of our forums and an important part of what makes Racketboy an oasis from the typical stupidery of internet gaming forums. If you have anything you want to know about FPS games, survival horror, or the world's cheesiest and most unwatchable cinema, then Ack is your guy. He's an open minded fellow who will give even the worst games or movies a bit of his time to find the value hidden deep within them, and he'll do the same for you too, so don't worry if you're a B-list human. Ack is also my absolute favorite political adversary, which I mean as a compliment. We don't really disagree all that often, but when we do, Ack is level-headed and provides a reasoned argument for his side. I walk away from a disagreement with him feeling more well rounded and reasoned, rather than more entrenched in my position and angry. Lastly, I want to point out that Ack has a fantastic sense of humor with a sharp wit that keeps me laughing whenever he posts something like this.

Ack, buddy, up high:
