Insanity Blog

Post by Nyukki »

New year and all, time to lose weight. Doing the Insanity program for 60 days. Feel free to join in, leave encouraging comments or slanderous remarks if I fail to update this blog daily, meaning I have given up.

Day 1:

What we're dealing with here (warning, pictures of me in my underwear coming up!).

The view's not too bad from the front, but the sideview reveals much work to be done. Mega double-chin along with some big bellyness and man boobage.

Day 1 is the fit test, which you repeat once every two weeks to track your improvements. Here are my scores.

110 / 43 / 55 / 25 / 5 / 7 / 10 / 20

Can't remember what all the exercises were, but by the end I was thoroughly knackered, shaking and about ready to pass out. Felt like giving up half way through, and to be fair I did get a bit lazy towards the end. But looking forward to seeing this thing through.

Weight: 96.5kg
Belly circumference (button to button): 40"

Good luck and don't give up. Insanity is hard, but it is doable.

The first week will suck, but I promise you're going to see results fast. You probably won't show them physically, but your stamina is going to skyrocket.

The first time you complete the entire warm up without stopping for a breath (yes, just the warm up, the rest will come later) you're gonna feel great.

Thanks dude. I went to Kung Fu school when I finished high school and I remember for the first two weeks I couldn't move without groaning in pain, but then suddenly after two weeks I felt great. Hoping this will be the same, gotta push for the burn and break through the pain barrier.

Day 2: Plyometric Cardio Circuit

Did some morning Insanity today. 40 minute workout, by the last ten minutes I couldn't keep up anymore and only participated sparingly. Looking back a little bit disappointed with myself, need to try harder next time. Feel like I'm gonna puke now, guess that means I'm doing it right!

Day 3: Cardio Power & Resistance

Another early morning insanity before breakfast. Tough as balls. Still want to puke after training but not nearly as bad as yesterday, and was able to take part mostly 100% until about 6 or 7 minutes to go, so better than yesterday. Also, recovering faster as I'm writing this within 10 minutes of finishing training, whereas yesterday I needed about half an hour to recuperate.

Curious, did you get a body fat % to track your progress better than weight alone? Good luck, this is the opposite of what i do in the gym. Of course cardio is not on my agenda though lol.

No clue as to body fat %'age, how do I calculate that? To be fair though I don't really care, my weight I just posted for reference. My main aim is simply to look better naked.

A trainer or doc will usually use calipers to take measurements, or there is a xbox looking controller they use that does ok. As you're doing this you'll gain some muscle but lean out some so your weight alone might not be the best indicator of progress. Just a thought. As long as you're happy with whats in the mirror, thats more important than what a scale says. Whats you're height? You are about 15lbs more than me at 5'10 and 14 bf%.
