You may know controllers, but I LOVE sticks...and I dont have a dedicated Neogeo stick.noiseredux wrote:dont' do it. I bought one last year. It's one of the cheapest feeling sticks I've ever come across. The stick itself is awful. The body is thin, light plastic. It feels like a toy. Avoid all temptation... this coming from a guy who urged you to splurge on an Xbox One controller!fastbilly1 wrote:Stupidly tempted to buy a Neogeo X stick and mod the buttons.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I know, but I've owned enough sticks over the years to know when one feels really cheap. I know that you have good ones to compare it to. I'm just saying that when my NGX stick arrived last year, I took it out of the box, moved the stick, touched the buttons, put it back in the box and sold it. It was that cheap feeling.fastbilly1 wrote: You may know controllers, but I LOVE sticks...and I dont have a dedicated Neogeo stick.
There must be a way to mod a legit NG stick to USB instead? Or maybe an adapter to use one on PC directly?

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
You can take a legit stick and wire it to a ZD board or a hacked pad. The DB15 that they use for the connector is stupidly straight forward. I am hesitant to buy a legit Neo stick since I doubt I will ever own an AES or CDZ, but I will own a Blissbox 4 play, so it is a consideration. No kidney bean though, give me that box.noiseredux wrote:I know, but I've owned enough sticks over the years to know when one feels really cheap. I know that you have good ones to compare it to. Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
What about building a stick with more an MVS theme? Still could match the layout/colors. Could probably do it by plugging half the holes on a Mad Catz stick (or similar) too.fastbilly1 wrote: You can take a legit stick and wire it to a ZD board or a hacked pad. Noise is right, the Neo Geo X stick is about the cheapest feeling gaming accessory I've ever touched, rivaled only by some Wiimote holders. I don't think it'd be a worthy starting point.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
The Neo Geo X handheld itself is pretty decent. But there is absolutely no reason to hook it to a television.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I second that the Neo Geo X stick feels really cheap, it is mega light and "tingy", horrible buttons and the stick itself feels like you can break if if I treated it like I do some of my other sticks in fighting games.
As a whole, the Neo Geo X has spent 99% of its life in its box on the top shelf of my wardrobe, when I can be bothered modding it (Those SD Card adapter are a nightmare to make) it might get some more love.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I'm shocked by how much the games still cost. They should be like $8 each by now.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Now that my focus is going to be on the ps2, instead of getting every guilty gear or kof, if you can only choose the best one to buy which should I get out of these franchises,
The kof series
Guilty gear series
There are so many of these. Right now u just got kof xi for 7.00 new so that was a good deal, but is it the best?
