No reason to put yourself out more money in shipping an item like that. If you are certain that the guy is knowingly trying to rip people off, then just contact ebay.
Getting a refund and giving him negative feedback isn't doing other buyers any good. Contacting ebay is more likely to get you a better resolution and is more likely to help other people not get scammed.

THIS. No need to telephone, the contact thru the Resolution Center works well. Be sure to include a picture of both style PCBs and explanation of identifying the bootleg glob version.

maybe we should come together as a community and buy all that sellers bootlegs. I'd imagine 5 or 6 different people all reporting bootlegs would get that account shut down pretty fast.

Unfortunately, US eBay does all it can to force you into a rigid chain of resolution and there's nothing you can do to stop it or get a hold of a real person. Since the buyer "accepted" a return when I reported him, I have no recourse through their website. I'll have to just call eBay's hotline, but that can mean a half hour wait on hold. eBay does all it can to do as little work as possible (and thus save on staffing actual people) by automating all these things.

Make sure to leave him a negative stating sellers games are bootlegs

Re: [help] Castlevania Double Pack GBA Fake?
I'm happy that this topic got attention. I can usually spot a bootleg right away, but this one would've fooled me without opening it. I gotta start paying more attention to the stamped number on the label.
Like you guys, it's often likely that it's a fake just by noticing the price and number of Pokemon, Fire Emblems, and other sought after titles that have been sold recently.
Makes me wonder though; what's to stop a guy buying a legit copy and claiming it's a bootleg with false pics, etc (or even having a bootleg, swapping it out, then before reporting it as a false copy)?
The system is kind of screwy both ways.
If I ever sell my GBA collection, I'm taking pics of the actual board. People will know EXACTLY what they are getting.
I'm also worried about DS games these days (mostly because I can't tell the bad beyond a suspicious label). I don't even trust Gamestop, because I know they aren't trained to spot the bad ones. It would be terrible to overpay for a Pokemon game, just to discover it's a fake.

Not much, probably. Although for all the trouble this has been, I can't imagine it'd be worth anyone's time. I'm following through just on principle.

Your probably right on that.
I was scammed on a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga once (back when it was in the $100 price range). Seller just took my money order and disappeared

You can bet I fought for justice on that one.
