I got the Spelunky bug again a couple weeks ago and now can get to Olmec, but make stupid mistakes. I still have to get the key all the way to the temple, but man this game is the epitome of addiction in game form. I played it coop and only got frustrated, but vs multiplayer is insanity.

Recently I was given an Xbone controller and my Spleunky game has skyrocketed. Ive played it atleast ten rounds a day for the last two weeks and finally got the last shortcut opened - stupid key. I also went to the castle, killed the knight, beat Anubis a couple times, and got to Olmec again. I randomly discovered that if you get the idol to Kali she gives you a gold pooping monkey, and if you get knocked out you can sacrifice yourself. Right now I am working on whipping arrows and killing shop keepers. I just know I will beat it this year - the proper way.

We played this about an hour so far...struggling. Mostly due to trying to rush through each level.

are you playing the original "sprite" version, or the HD version that's on Steam? I played the original and didn't enjoy it, but Fast has told me many times that I'd like the HD version way more.

There is a two and a half minute limit to each map. After the time limit a ghost comes out to chase you, but he moves slowly and you can navigate around him. I would hesitate to play it multiplayer unless everyone has played it through to the jungle in single player. There are some techniques that have to be learned before you can really work together - like how far you can jump, and how to fall into a hang.

Such a good game, great on the Vita too.

I'm playing Steam HD. I'm having a hard enough recognizing where booby-trap arrows are - let alone mastering anything else yet.

As soon as you find a rock, pick it up and you can use it to set off booby-traps. Press down and the throw button to drop it off ledges.

You can aslo hold down the walk button and walk to the edge. Or carry a rat/frog/penguin/grasshopper with you. They will take the damage hit.
