It's a common problem that people aren't aware of just how many games the Vita actually has. It's not so much ignorance on behalf of the gamers as it is a generalized slant of the gaming media. For example this year someone at USGamer wrote an article saying the Vita barely got any games in 2014. I left a comment mentioning tons of games the Vita got in 2014. The author then retorted and said something to the effect of "well those games don't really count and you're not helping the case" or some such bullshit. ( http://www.usgamer.net/articles/2014-re ... ation-vita )

Anyway, while it's true there are too many great Vita games left unlocalized in Japan, we have enough in English now to make the system certainly worth owning. I'm always happy to see another gamer enjoying the system. :D
The author just needed an article to generate the clicks for their advertising revenue. Honestly, she states that she plays the Vita on the odd trip here and there, then she should have no problem finding games to play. Perhaps, the author should consider going outside of her comfort zone.

I don't see the problem either but then again I probably play my Vita the same amount of time as the author and yet I have piles of Vita games that haven't even been opened. I'm not even factoring in whatever is on PSN since I really only buy physical releases. Then, if you throw in some import titles from Europe and Japan and yes you will have plenty to play.

That and sadly unless you keep tabs on the release schedule you honestly don't see much in stores(if any games, I'm looking at you walmart >_> ). It seems like there's a ton of games but you have to dig to find out the new ones since most that are announced or seemingly announced aren't what the mainstream wants to recognize...

I personally gave up on brick 'n' mortar game stores circa 2001. At that time and now, I find far better deals and stock variety online. For example, I wanted a brand new copy of Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut for 360. So yesterday I ordered it off Amazon for $13.99 sealed. It will be in my mailbox in two days. It took me nearly zero effort and time to obtain. Now, maybe I could have driven down to the local GameStop and bought the game for $9.99 sealed. However, if I factor in the gas spent to get there plus the sales tax, the game will have cost me more than $13.99 in the end. Not to mention the lost time driving and finding the game on the shelf. This is an example of why if I'm buying recent games it's more convenient and cheaper to do so online.

As far as classic games are concerned, I understand that's hit and miss. You might find better deals in pawn shops, flea markets, swap meets, yard sales, what have you. But I for one don't have the midday free time for all that, plus being highly antisocial IRL, I just take the wallet hit and buy them off eBay. I'm more about the end result than enjoying the hunt.

Most of the time, for new condition games, that's what I'd do too. I do enjoy detouring to Gamestop from time to time for cheap stuff though. It's usually the sub-$10 games that wind up being non-Prime, which can wind up doubling the price (or more) after shipping.

While Amazon's price went up, Gamestop has Freedom Wars for $14.99 too (through the 30th), which I happened to notice while there today.

I think more generally though, online does tend to reflect better on a console's entire library.

Decided to snoop around amazon for a boombox cd player for my mom since hers finally broke.

the boombox still didn't qualify for free shipping, so I searched for vita games.

I came across this one

Its on special right now, and the price of the used normal edition at gamestop is just a few bucks less.

So I ordered it.

Now I have free shipping! And a nice new limited edition vita game.

And now I'm sad.

I want this game. But amazon has it expensive right now. I've been keeping an eye on it but for that price...nope.

I saw a physical copy used at gamestop around christmas at $24.99. Right now gamestop.com has it $10 more. I need to go to that gamestop and see if they still have it with the old sticker. I hope they havent changed it.

Vita collecting is getting complicated :|

Yes because a lot of these games are limited print niche titles that quickly become hard to find. When it comes to Vita it's best to just buy the games as soon as they are released and take the full retail price hit. Waiting a year or two means you'll likely be paying much more than retail for the same game still sealed later on.

Yeah. I'm too late to get that game I posted.

I went to two gamestops and they both changed the prices on them. :(

See the new sticker slapped on top of the old one.

Dammit.

Well you'd best nab the sequel while it's still $30.
