Show us your Tiger Electronics handhelds!

Post by SNKnicotine »

For the most part Tiger Electronic Handhelds are considered sub-par at best with most any console, but for some unusaul reason we still bought them. I remember having a Gameboy Pocket and enjoying all the games I owned for it, but whenever I crossed paths with an TE handheld I found myself wanting it. This thread is for you guys to share your storys about these cool little handhelds or show off your collection!.

I suppose I'll go first these are the ones I have but remeber owning the Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter 2 ones(wish I still had them).

My tiny collection

I have just 5, here's four of them, the other is that Super Sound Sub War game which is ridiculously good for an LCD game.

I got lucky with those in that image. I found them all in zip bags with the manuals thrown in a box over the summer at a flea market in this guys trailer I see weekly at this one place and just wanted a buck a piece for them but he gave me football free.

Eventually when the need hits again I'm going to grab Gauntlet and Afterburner among a couple others I used to enjoy. I had Mega Man 2 I bought used a few years back but the screen dimmed out and failed. :( (that was my favorite.)

I don't care what anyone says about the quality, I really enjoyed the hell out of these as a kid. I had Football, Bowling and Skeet Shoot (with a really cool dial on the right side). My brother had Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, Double Dragon and a helicopter game (Tiger Heli I think?). I really wish I still had mine.

something like $15 shipped. it was not a lot of money. there were also some non-tiger LCD games in there as well (Pac-Man, Frogger keychain).

I had a jurassic park one I used to enjoy, I was young and easily amused I guess. I never could beat the damn T-Rex

I also had a Poker and Blackjack one when I was really little, I basically taught myself the game with those.

You really should have this moved, this is a marketplace and this post is about ownership of Tiger handhelds, not selling/trading them.

I also forgot to mention I have an oddball Tiger handheld of sorts, the Virtua Cop game which uses a detachable light gun that kind of works like the Wii does with the IR baras it has 4 little points at the corner of the screen. Basically you pop off this gun, fold it open to use it and pull the little trigger and it will pick up if you hit whatever you're aiming at (most the time, not sure if I have bad light.) It's pretty fun.
