Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
I believe i have my PS1 in the basement of my old home. If i can find it and find a cheap copy it would be great. Ive seen videos of the game and have thought for a while on getting it.

the 2nd just improves on the first and the story/characters aren't related at all. both are pretty linear but i enjoyed them. prefer "skies" though.Snatch1414 wrote:I don't have the first Grandia unfortunately and not really in the market for it at that price. If the sequel isn't too.....sequel-ly......I'll give it a try though for sure.

Try the first Grandia on the Saturn if you can. It's cheaper than the PS1 version (and superior). As annoying as the language barrier is, it is still playable and there are translation guides so you can follow the story. It's the only way I have played it and I still loved every minute.

Thanks man. You might want to check out my newer post in the Together Retro Grandia thread though lol. I take back what I said, don't bother with the Saturn original, it's too much effort when it's easily available in English. I went ahead and bought the PS1 version. I guess I used to have far more patience lol.bacardipr05 wrote:Reprised, im intrigued yet reluctant. Prior to your post i was reading one of your old posts regarding Grandia.
As for Grandia 2, it's completely un related to the first game. It's an all new world, new story, new characters, so it's fine to play it first if you want.

I would have to see if i can dig up the ol PS. Im a pretty die hard Sega console person. I will put it on my to do list one day to play that game on either format ( probably will be the English version).

So much Samba tonight! Still having a hard time with some of the tracking, but this game is a whole lot of fun. I'm able to get ~95% on most of the normal mode tracks. Pretty excited to get an official set of maracas now.
Everyone here was too cool to play a rhythm game, but hopefully they'll all warm up to it.
For now they just resort to taking video of me playing and uploading it to Facebook (which has some salty language at the end).

DUDE NICE! Everyone loves to watch, but what you need to do is give them a show! Move those arms like a crazy person, pose like a power stancing air guitarist! LIVE THE SAMBA!SpoonyBard wrote:So much Samba tonight! Still having a hard time with some of the tracking, but this game is a whole lot of fun. I'm able to get ~95% on most of the normal mode tracks. I will totally get crazy once I get a little more time under my belt. Just getting used to the tracking. I've maybe got an hour or two playtime into it so far and i'm still missing a lot of the lower notes.
I just want to convince someone to play by the time I get a second set of maracas! I'm totally going to live the Samba! And if that takes some crazy posing, then so be it!
