PS3 memory card adapter question.

Post by SpaceBooger »

So, I have the memory card usb adapter that allows me copy PS1 saves to and from the PS3 and a memory card.

I tried to save directly to to the card when playing Grandia today, but the PS1 game did not see the card. I don't think I can save directly to the card only copy saves, but I was hoping I can and was missing something.
Does anyone know if I can save directly to a memory card or can I only copy saves?

I thought you could only transfer saves to/from a virtual memory card. But, I've yet to get the adapter so I don't know for sure. I just remember reading that a while back.

Fairly sure you can only save to ps3 then copy the save.

Man... now I have to be lazy :D
It seems that every time I feel like playing a PS1 game downstairs, and letting my wife have the main tv, I don't have the most recent save on my card and have to boot up the PS3 just to copy the save. Oh, well. Thanks for the input guys.

Just to confirm what the others said, I own the adapter as well and I can confirm you cannot save directly to the memory card. You can only use the adapter to transfer files between the PS3's virtual memory card and the real memory card (and vice versa)

So I this thread made me remember that I've been wanting to get one of these memory card adapters since I've owned a PS3. I just checked Amazon and they're at ridiculous prices. I don't even wanna check eBay.
