Say goodbye to the next 80 hours of your life.

yeah I know, I just popped it in last night just to test it out, then 3 hours later I was hooked. I really need to start Grandia first before I get too involved. A really shame that they didn't offer a 480p option on DQ 8, Star Ocean had 480p don't know why they didn't for DQ which came out after it I believe. Just imagine what it would look like in glorious 480p on my HD Panasonic Tau CRTBoneSnapDeez wrote:Say goodbye to the next 80 hours of your life.

I started early to both A. Test the waters and B. If things went well get the head start, because I KNOW I wouldn't be able to finish it in the months time.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Say goodbye to the next 80 hours of your life.

I managed to finish PSO in one month so I hope I can handle Grandia.
Though PSO was insanely addictive. Lost sleep because of it. I could play PSO in 5 hour stretches. Doubt I could do that with any other game.
I should be fine if I dedicate 2 hours to Grandia per day. Most likely it'll be 10 PM - midnight.

Wow I just found out that the US version of Dragon Quest 8 is superior to the Japanese version and in a rather huge way. The Japanese version lacks that incredible orchestral soundtrack and wonderful voice acting, really rather baffling how the west got the superior version of a JRPG.

Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
Is there a source on that? That sounds kind of silly, the series has had a big name composer for every game I believe.
lol, somehow I had 90 hours on my PSO (GC) game back in the day, all offline too.

Big name composer is not the same thing as orchestral soundtrack. Koichi Sugiyama did the music again (he's DQ's Uematsu), but it was improved in the overseas release.Xeogred wrote:Is there a source on that? That sounds kind of silly, the series has had a big name composer for every game I believe.

Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
It is really sad that DQ 8 hasn't had a proper rerelease, it had a iOS and Android release rather recently but it is god awful. No voiceacting or orchestral music, abysmally choppy framerate, terrible DRM, a $20 pricetag, and for some unkown stupid reason the game is only able to be played in vertical portrait mode. What a shame because this game would do so well on the Vita or 3DS.

Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
I was just kind of suggesting it seemed silly because I would "assume" the music is a big part of the series and treated as such... so that's definitely really weird.MrPopo wrote:Big name composer is not the same thing as orchestral soundtrack. Then again, I guess there's the whole FFVII midi music on the original PC release. Speaking of that... according to some Steam reviews, the Steam version actually has a reworked translation?

I'm 45 hours into Dragon Quest VIII, and it has stayed consistently good thus far.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
