How good is Grandia II? It's sitting in my basement collecting dust since I've acquired it.

Play the first Grandia with us starting tomorrow for Together Retro and you will see just how much fun the combat system is. There is a lot of attention to detail in the games and a really really entertaining combat system that has never really been replicated. I have become very disenchanted with RPGs but this series really brought back the fun elements that I grew to love.

Just picked up a copy of Samba De Amigo with the Samba Fans Maracas and i'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this maracas set? The left maraca seems to have a problem registering the height properly to navigate through menus. When I get into a level, the maracas seem to be stuck in the top right corner.

Wondering if maybe i'm hooking it up wrong? Or just standing too far away or something?

I have the same set and it really does take some finagling to get everything set up right. Most likely, the problem is with where you are positioned and how they were calibrated in the game. There is always the possibility the maraca itself is defective, but let's not jump to conclusions.

It takes a LOT of getting used as the motions controls aren't the most reactive. This is coming from a guy who can 100% every song on the game pad, but with the maracas, get roughly around 95%-ish with a lot of work.

But the Dreamcast VGA is expensive right? which one do you use? Also there is the issue of sound

Haha, I didn't even consider calibrating them. I suppose I can probably start there when I get home.

I picked up my Performance VGA box a few years ago for $25 USD. I'd consider it pretty reasonable considering all of the features.

Grandia 2 is freaking awesome. I avoided Rpg's like the plague. This is the first one Ive ever finished if memory serves me. In fact i was waiting to "forget" enough of the game so i could play through it again. I hated to see it end  and i slightly postponed finishing it for that reason...Wish Pt 1 was in English for the Sat, i might have to one day get it for ps1 i think i have a old one sitting somewhere.
Curtsy when you walk by that Dreamcast

You should totally invest in the first game. It is a lot of fun and my experiences so far in preparation for Together Retro have been nothing but entertaining!

I don't have the first Grandia unfortunately and not really in the market for it at that price. If the sequel isn't too.....sequel-ly......I'll give it a try though for sure.
