You mean it still relevant? I still consider it a "this gen." game.
I find the WWII CODs better than the newer ones, but they seemed niche. How popular can a WWII FPS be? But it was very well made.

Interesting how they changed its style, and became a historical game. Its the mainstream of mainstreams! COD to 360/PS3 like Super Mario/Sonic in 16-bit.
Call of Duty 2 is nearly 10 years old now. I'd hardly consider it part of the current crop of games. Much less relevant considering how drastically different CoD has become since then.
Older. Not wiser.

Speaking of WW ll FPS, has anyone tried Enemy Front? I see that it's down to $20 new at GS, and I was curious to see if anyone has input on it.

Being literal...I don't think any console games are Steamworks enabled. Valve did make a PS3 version of Steam, kinda, which was an optional thing to connect your PSN and Steam accounts - doing so granted you the PC version of Portal 2 when you bought the PS3 version. I don't think they really used it beyond that.

In addition to PS+, as mentioned, offhand, PSN games are authenticated to a certain number of machines similar to how iTunes media is. Deauthorizing/authorizing them would require logging in, otherwise, I think they should work.
Live, if I recall, will work offline/with any account on the primary console attached to the account that bought them. IE, you can buy a game, and someone else in the house can log in with their account on that console and use them too, or they'll work offline. On the other hand, you could download them to a friend's console (or bring them on a USB drive I think), but the content would only be usable if online and logged in under your Live account.

Far as I know, for discs, it's not a matter of phoning home for permission. It's that Live/PSN act as middlemen. If you can't log into PSN, then it can't access your credentials for Netflix or something either. A PS3 already connected to a multiplayer game could keep working, but without PSN it wouldn't know how to connect to the server. A game that has a significant online component would be hobbled without PSN or Live to direct it to its servers.

Neither the PS4 or Xbox One require a persistent connection, though I think they do want one for initial setup.

The more i play ocarina of time 3D the more is hard to point out if it is a remake or a enhanced port. For instance a lot of animations, models and textures were re-done and look better but i believe the game still runs on the same engine as the N64 but just heavily modified since sometimes when you engage in conversations with NPC's the camera can get behind a piece of the scenery bloking your view on Link and the other character.

I feel is more like the middle of the road half remake half enhanced port, it changes the right things to make it work on the 3DS and also to eliminate the aged aspects of the original, though some are still there, but keeps a lot of thing from the original changing almost nothing from the level layouts of the dungeons or the world itself.

So I just saw Carmageddon Reincarnation in the Steam sale. Still early access, but came with the old games. I do own the old games, but figured what the hell. Thankfully the DOSBOX set up will fake the Glide for you so you can play the first 2 in 640x480. I never noticed that the cows shit themselves right before you run them over back in the day.

I know, this generation is the longest generation ever, but this does not change the fact that its a 360 release. I still do not recognise the Xbox One/PS4 generation start yet, since most of the games on them are enhanced graphics of pre-released games or they share same games with 360/ps3.

Time flies, I still remember looking at the 360 with awe. It was revolutionary.

I don't think Gamergate will ever "die" because it's becoming increasingly clear that it absorbed a lot of well-known nasties from the dark corners of the internet. The connections to child porn boards, 8chan and that kind of stuff really give it away, though many pointed this out right at the beginning since they recognized the names.

The "movement" has also been co-opted by right-wing "think tanks" and individuals that have absolutely jack shit to do with video gaming.

The whole thing is just a disaster.

Oh yeah, that was awful enough but this is like watching a sinking ship explode and burn while everyone fights each other. I should do something better with my time but it's entertaining in a sickening way
