Oy that sounds like my mom with my first laptop I got new....(win7 thing is busted now since it'll barely turn on and hinges are messed up somehow...)

my only computer that I have been using is this macbook I am typing on and I bought it in 2009, I bought it 3 months before the launch of Win7. You must seriously abuse your computers?

Well I guess i must have dropped the bag it was in or something for it to be like that but windows computers have never lasted me(though all of them hand me downs until I got that computer). Sad thing is my old hp xp computer when I have pulled it up, it still runs better than the win7 laptop. Funny you mention mac though because I'm on one now that I got mid-2012(non-retina version) and it's still running amazingly(albeit some updated things including firefox which has always been a performance hog no matter what I do is making it act a little funny from time to time....). Heck I even ran WoW for a awhile after Mists came out and was stunned(heck even SWToR mmo runs great in parallels....)

On a side note I just got a Vizio E-series 32" and man this thing is a amazing for airplay of soloman's keep and a few others I did...wonder how bad Ps1 would end up on it.....

Got a 50.00 gift card for GameStop and I'm not sure what to get. Got a 360 and I'm so out of touch with this or last generation since I've been only hooked on 8-16 bit, I don't know what's good anymore.
Any suggestions? Love fighting and 3rd person shooters. Also love shmups. Got gears of war and the two raiden games.

If you don't want to go with modern style games, there are a variety of retro collections for it too. Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for one, Capcom Digital Collection, a couple Konami volumes, Namco and Midway arcade collections, Dreamcast collection, etc.

Plenty of fighters as well, particularly if you haven't touched newer entries like Street Fighter IV, KoF XIII, and so on. Or more separate ones like Injustice or the newer Mortal Kombat.

There are some common SHMUPs in the $10 and under bin - Deathsmiles and Akai Katana offhand. Really though, there's a lot in that price range now, so it could be a good time to take a chance on something new to you as well.

Getting kof 13, akai katana, injustice ultimate edition and maybe another title like!e mass effect. Heard the second one is the best. That should hold me for current titles.

I wonder what percentage of Super Mario Bros. 3 is playable with the frog suit. I know at least one level requires flying. I'd like to see someone at least take down the final castle as a froggy.

I'm pretty sure I've done that before. Even as a kid I kind of treated the frog suits as normal mushrooms (able to take more hits), but the hopping always made it more challenging haha.

I wish the green boot was an actual item you could acquire outside of that one level in world 5.

I hoard my P-wings until World 8. Makes the last few levels a breeze.

can you play some more modern games through parallels and tell me how it goes? I know it works ok for older games(mid-90's) , but not sure about more recent releases like 2008-10 .

also, I didn't know you can airplay ios games since the screen is touch based. How does Plants vs Zombies work in that setup?

Well SWToR mmo is kinda modern and it works nice after you do a few regedits to fool it(and I think I have it on mid-high levels but haven't played it in awhile nor have I had a reason too since I'm not much of a pc gamer if there's a console version availible plus I haven't bought many games new). I ought to try PvZ on it, i just know it was rather horrendous(due to my bad gameplay of trying to hit the skeleton army) with SK. You are honestly just using the phone(or tablet, or heck even mac if you probably wanted to(though I don't know how well that would go)) as a controller for the game since it mirrors display if you tell it too. I've just never had a way to see what all the deal with it was until now. Plus it looks sweet on my 32", doesn't looks stretched or anything in any way looks really natural, just takes kinda learning the screen the way you learn to type without looking.... honestly though I'm about ready to also see how it handles streaming from flixter(since I still had a free digital voucher that came with the movie....if only the batman one still worked....ah well at least that one has a decently priced bundle from itunes)
