I was lucky and didn't watch that trailer and stuck to the top for like five minutes constantly attacking and i was wondering why this f@cker doesn't die. Then i figured out and it was a wonderful moment to say the leastMrPopo wrote:Yes, the big castle is non-linear. So you basically get two Castlevania games in one. The first half is a Rondo style game, the second half is a SotN game.
And yeah, the giant enemy crab was awesome, even though the trailers already spoiled the fact that at the end you attack its weakpoint for massive damage.
Any of you lucky DS owners playing Order of Ecclesia?

Well, with awesome games like this on the DS and some of the cool stuff I'm discovering on the PSP, I think I'm finally understanding all the love for portable gaming.
I absolutely love Order of Ecclesia's visual style from some of the stuff I've seen on youtube. To me, it looks much nicer than previous titles and some of those bosses are just incredible
I read somewhere you can unlock a hard mode with a FREAKING TWO HUNDRED FIFTY-FIVE LEVEL CAP!!!!!!
Is this true?

Imo Ecclesia is one of the three best Castleroid games out there. Dawn Of Sorrow and Symphony of The Night being the other two.

I've been playing quite a bit of this and enjoying it a lot. I love the mixing of the linear and non-linear stages, as it's a bit of a change of pace from the previous CastleTroid games. Also I agree that the game is HARD. Deceptively hard. Even common, non-boss enemies can kill you if your not paying attention... and for the most part I like that. You can't shut your brain off and play on auto-pilot like you could in certain CastleTroids, and you'll have to be more careful in boss fights and not just rely on you killing the boss before they can kill you.
Also, while having a female lead IS pretty cool... she's kinda a bland character. That's understandable seeing as all her memories were stripped away and all, but still, she's just very stoic.
Still, beyond that its a fun game that (mostly) has a good balance of hard and fun. Though those the medals you can only get by beating bosses without taking damage can go screw themselves.
Also, watch this for an example of how insane Hard mode is on this game once you unlock it. No real spoilers, it's just a play through of the training stage and the first level on hard mode, showing how... evil it is.

I wanted to be a Teminator but they require you have an armored hyperalloy skeleton and mine's mostly recycled truck tires.

My girlfriend got it for me last week, but I haven't had a chance to play it yet. My Circuit City closed down last month, and I'm still trying to catch up on the games I got from the sale. Also, on Monday, I got an Xbox360
Woot.
Woot.
Comics, RPG's, miniatures, and now retrogaming? I guess its time to learn to go without eating...

Wow, the first DS game is the easiest of the lot by far. Whatever you do, don't play Portrait of Ruin. Man, that game frustrated the shit out of me with it's fucking shitty buddy gameplay. I HATE BUDDY GAMES!!! ARGH! Ecclesia seems a turn in the right direction, it's more action orientated like SOTN was. The soul collecting got old pretty quickly on the first DS game. I finished the final boss and got to 98% and just didn't know what else I needed to do to get 100%Mozgus wrote:I beat all 3 GBA entries, but it seems I'm stuck big time in the first DS game. In fact, I've been stuck half a dozen times until I just gave up. I really think it's level design is weak compared to the earlier ones. I cant decide if I just need to skip to the 2nd, go right to the third (this new one), or just forget about them all.
