Oy that sounds like my mom with my first laptop I got new....(win7 thing is busted now since it'll barely turn on and hinges are messed up somehow...). I swear she was laughing the whole time I was trying to get it out, I didn't know whether I was pissed or happy by the time I got to it though little daggers were coming to mind for making me work that hard for it...

edit: ps4, though not technically launch it was close enough because it was black friday. I regret that decision because I think I'm still trying to thaw out from that and the thing hasn't gotten much play lately(only because I keep misplacing the charger and controller)

Nintendo oddly has not done this yet have they? All the Wii revisions have been worse and lacking features. Well I guess the top loader or mini super but all lacking features.

Japan got got the better AV Famicom, which always struck me as odd that for our version we lost AV. SNES mini of course lost s-video. Gamecube lost the digital port.

Console stuff not so much, but Nintendo's handhelds certainly get better as they get more revisions. When I was talking about consoles I was thinking more along the lines of Sony and Microsoft.

my only computer that I have been using is this macbook I am typing on and I bought it in 2009, I bought it 3 months before the launch of Win7. You must seriously abuse your computers?

Just beat Isaac for the first time. I watched a bunch of run throughs and even though I had shitty pickups (other than health, was Mag) I sped through it. Great game.

The Regular Show 3DS game is surprisingly good! In fact, it's the first game I have played in a long time that I just couldn't put down! The level design is linear without feeling restrained - still leaving plenty of time for exploration. The timer is only for bonus money in the game, which makes each level either a challenge of mastery or completionism as the player sees fit. Plus, the points have value as funds to spend in the bonus games for extra lives & continues - I love it when games actually attach intrinsic value to points. Finally, the continue system is remarkably fair for a retro-styled platformer, and makes you want to keep trying even after several game overs, which is downright necessary for such a game. In short, it's much better than it has any right to be. XD

I just love the Last of Us. The game just works for me, and all the little details during the prologue when they are in Texas just really pulled me in from the first time I played. Seeing a sign in the game pointing to freakin' San Marcos was just great. A lot of the mannerisms and the way Joel acts just adds another layer, because I know so many guys like that- they take a long time to warm up, but once they do, they're your friend for life.

It took me forever to figure out why I couldn't use listen mode on survivor though.

Is that not accessible in survivor mode? That's probably awesome. See through walls abilities always kind of ruin games.

I really enjoyed the game myself and can't say I'm that big of a fan of Uncharted. Last of Us was just way better with better gameplay and combat to me.

I'm really digging the new Tomb Raider too, which feels heavily influenced by Last of Us in the best ways.
