That was beautiful.

I'd absolutely love if:
1. I could find an online game of XCOM: Enemy Unknown
2. I could win said game and get my damn trophy.

Now that i think about it i don't have a expending limit per month on games and yes i do enjoy the hunting/buying of games like i enjoy playing them. Time to work on that budget.

Yes, get it under control while you still can. Make a gaming budget and be religious about it, or you're doomed.
Funny thing is I try to be religious about mine but that fails epically especially when christmas time rolls around. My paychecks get all sorts of wonderful this time of the year

The worst part about it is I'm starting to get really really nostaligic about the gameboy(more specifically color) since I sunk a lot of time trying to play pokemon yellow, quest for camelot, donald duck gone quackers, and hexcite(I wish I knew what happened to that game...so much win in that puzzle game...). Ought to go beat those first but i keep discovering there's tons of games I've never played that I would've....just sucks I've lost that teal gameboy color I had when I was at my previous position somehow(good thing my pokemon games weren't in that since I only own red, yellow and silver, tis a shame i lost emerald, and black)

What was your most exciting console launch and why?

For me it has to be the N64 or the 32-bit as a whole. It was more or less the first time we see 3D as mainstream for games, 3D on cartridge was mind boggling, 3D with no loading! , best platformer on the market in an open world, 4 joysticks with awesome new shape (I know its not convenient). I still remember seeing those 3D screenshots in magazines and 3D Mario. It was exciting! Those are one of the things that you just had to be there to feel it.

On the PSX side, playing games on a CD had a same futuristic effect (for some reason i had this idea games on a consoles can only be on cartridge). Also the buttons with shapes instead of letters made me feel like its something futuristic. Also it was the first console (I saw) that had a menu screen and your console can play music CD's!

360 comes in second. The flashy green lights, first time I hear of HD, online play, wireless joysticks, awesome sliders menu, dedicated HDD. Again in 2005 it really had that effect of "THE FUTURE IS NOW" which last i felt was with 32-bit gen.

The Dreamcast for me. First launch day where I had my own income. I don't know if pre-ordering was a thing then, but I went to class for the day then drove straight over to the mall to pick it up on 9/9/99. Only console I have that's my original too.

Nothing. I've never been able to afford consoles at launch.

For me it was the Wii. Prior to that every console had been gotten as a holiday gift, which was exciting, but not quite the same as getting something at launch. For the Wii I camped out in a Meijer for 24 hours before the launch with six other guys (their total allotment). We borrowed one of the TVs in the electronics department and hooked up a Gamecube for Smash and then watched Serenity.
