Great episode.
Off the top of my head, the only game I can think of that I hated then tried again and liked is Wrecking Crew on NES. I used to hate it, now I think its pretty fun.

Re: Giving Games a Second Chance - Game Sack
I don't think I've ever gone back to a game I've disliked... I have too many games that I haven't even tried yet, so I don't think I've ever thought to go back to one that I previously didn't enjoy. I also only recently started to play a lot more games, so most of the games I dislike I've played pretty recently anyway.
There have been a few games that I used to like, but now I don't after re-playing it though. Jak II is the only one I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure there are others.

Game Sack - Data East
Data East was a really interesting company back when they were around. Lots of great games. Actually I kind of think they kicked ass in lots of ways. What are some of your favorite games by Data East? And which company (developer and/or publisher) should we profile next?
Re: Game Sack - Data East
Nice timing, as I've just been considering picking up a Thunder Zone Jamma board myself. Good video overall.
I am surprised you didn't at least mention Wii's Data East Arcade Classics, which has many of their arcade games available. That one even allows playing Heavy Barrel very comfortably with a Classic Controller, with one stick moving the character and the other aiming the gun.
Also, the Famicom version of Karnov does have a continue feature, but it's hidden (hold Select and press Start at the Game Over screen, can only be done three times). The game's story scenes were removed from the NES release probably because they feature God sending Karnov to his mission, and Nintendo didn't want any religious themes appearing in their NES games back then.

I have a like-hate relationship with Joe & Mac.
I own and have only ever played the Genesis version. I'll play and have fun with it for a while, but something intangible about the game just infuriates me and it usually isn't long before I get pissed and shut it off.
I've beaten it a few times, so its not a difficulty thing. I don't know.
Anyway, great episode. As usual, I've added a couple of new games to my want list.
I'd enjoy seeing a Capcom arcade episode that ignores Street Fighter.

I loved seeing this retrospective on Data East.
I'm glad you mentioned their short-lived pinball division; they purchased it from Stern in the mid 80s and kept it in Chicago. They even had Sam Stern's son Gary in charge of the company. Sega would eventually purchase it by the mid 90s, and then Stern bought them out around 2000.
One DE game I wish to have seen there -- Express Raider (arcade). Not well known but a heck of a lot of fun. Glad to see Windjammers though!!!
Plus, that stage 1 Nitroball music I heard again. Best DE stuff ever.

Game Sack - Left in Japan!
Here is our 6th entry in our Left in Japan series featuring games that never got released outside of Japan. This is a good one with some really nice and some... "unique" games.

Re: Game Sack - Left in Japan!
Whew, glad I nabbed some of those before they went totally bonkers in price. As soon as Fortified Zone popped up, I was gonna say Operation Logic Bomb. Somehow I didn't notice there was an Ikari no Yousai 2, I'll have to be on the lookout.
I've seen images of The Laughing Salesman before, now I know what it is. Yay.
Wait.
