Yeah I did know that. Quite vexing. Explains the lack of ports compared to the others.

I kinda feel like Woolsey's script added a lot of character that wasn't there in the original or something.

Definitely. My understanding is that Woolsey really punched up the script in an awesome way, especially for Kefka.
FFV - ExDeath is my favorite FF villain thesedays and it's the hardest/best combat
Best combat yes. Hardest combat no, that's IV (of your list). V's combat is hilariously easy once you learn the tricks. Everything has a crippling weakness to exploit; what makes the Four Job Fiesta challenging is sometimes you don't roll the classes that can exploit some of the weaknesses out there.

Id like to see a total remake of FFVII, but i would prefer FFVI to be left alone i think, as it wasnt 3D to begin with and remaking FFVII wont hurt the integrity of the original imo.

Then again they remade FFIV for the DS and PSP and the original SNES one still holds up fine...

I dont know what i want, this is why i dont develop games!

Isn't VI in general not really a fan favorite in Japan? Kefka doesn't seem all that popular over there either.

According to someone on Twitter, the only reason people think VII is better than VIII is because of gaming's disdain of the femenine.

I played 1 FF rpg on the SNES but I can't tell which one. I think its called 4 in Japan but 6 in the USA. Its pretty long, at the beginning of the game I think you are over a mountain and you ride some sort of a robot, there is a part where you have to sing in an opera, and I think there is a guy who has a castle in the desert . Any one know which one I am talking about?

Sometimes I get it mixed up with Secret of Mana because SNES RPGs were very very similar.

Also, what are your thoughts on Mystic Quest? I want to play that game simply because the box art has a lot of nostalgia for me, but I heard it was a pretty bad game?

Mystic Quest isn't... bad per se, it's just kinda over-simplified for US audiences. Think of it as "Final Fantasy for Dummies"

Lots of people love challenges in their JRPGs (and especially in their FFs), as evidenced by the piles and piles of optional bosses that are always harder than any required boss, so Mystic Quest gets a bad rap.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed

That's Final Fantasy 6 - the original US SNES release was labeled Final Fantasy 3.
