Home is a haunted house style pixel-based game (with nicely drawn art) that tells a choose-your-own adventure kind of story (I guess?). I didn't think it was very good.
Sunset Overdrive's first couple of hours don't do it any favors as to me it felts slow, clunky, and unintuitive and the story and characters were more grating than endearing. But...the last 2/3 or so of the game keeps getting better as it goes and as your movement abilities and arsenal/powers unlock, the game really opens up in ways that are a ton of fun. The game looks fantastic, plays silky smooth, and was a lot of fun when all is said and done. The closest comparison I could make would be something like one of the Infamous games - and this is better than any of those on pretty much all counts.

If there are any arguments against Sonic R it's that a Saturn 3D Pad is pretty much required and that there's not enough of it. Especially that music.

Re: Games Beaten 2014
Sonic R isn't THAT bad as long as you know how to control it. I feel like very few games are completely bad, you just have to know how to play them. I have 100%-ed Sonic R before so it wasn't completely horrific.

Nice to see some agreement about the game. I thought I'd be getting some folks telling me that I'm crazy.
Since it was brought up, how is Crash Team Racing? I was thinking about picking it up as I was going through Diddy Kong.

@Bone
Sorry dude. Getting there.

Also:
I adore Sonic R.

Funny enough, I've never actually played Sonic R or Crash Team Racing. I did enjoy the SNES port of Street Racer but don't know how it compares on the PS1. I really only played kart racers on the N64 for that generation.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Not my fault ya'll got no taste in games. I stand by my statement.Ack wrote:NO, RYAN! BAD! Re: Games Beaten 2014
Crash Team Racing on PS1 is a legit good kart racer. I wouldn't say it's better than Mario Kart 64, but it's not far behind.
I am that weirdo who enjoyed Mega Man Battle & Chase.

Did you play Battle & Chase when it came out or did you play it when it released as part of the X Collection?Exhuminator wrote:Crash Team Racing on PS1 is a legit good kart racer. I wouldn't say it's better than Mario Kart 64, but it's not far behind.

...because if it is the latter, I admire your ability to like games. I wanted to like that game because it has a lot of charm but it felt like a spiritual successor to Sonic R.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Re: Games Beaten 2014
The first time I played Battle & Chase was in 2007 via a modded PS1 and a burned copy of the Japanese version. It might have helped that I was playing it multiplayer though.
