there's some trick with the stairs? dang
Yeah, Doom II makes a lot of use of the fact that your fall speed is fairly slow (especially considering your forward speed) so you can do things like hop corners and gaps.

Oh, cool, thanks!

D'you guys know if you can use a PS1 dualshock controller to play GTA san andreas and/or silent hill 3? I know some games FORCE you to have the pressure-sensitive buttons.

In our modern age we've lost the charm of kickass installers. Who here owned the DOS version of C&C? That was a game that started off with the notion that you were actually commanding an army somewhere using your computer and never gave up on it.

Silent Hill 3 should be fine.

when videogames were new developers were much more imaginative/creative than now. It was this new world where they were just exploring, and the major speed/graphics yearly technology advancement helped a lot with that imagination because what you could do in '96 was almost impossible in '92.

We discussed this before I think, where we said that limits push boundaries, and now that anything is possible people are just not as creative.

I've read some Japanese developers cite this exact reason for why they thought developing for older consoles was more fruitful for innovation. Nothing motivates creative people more than telling them what they want to do is impossible.

The C&C install was probably one of the most "interactive" installers ever.

Definitely. Having boundaries can make decisions easier. Whether it is something creative or simply deciding what to play or watch.
