This means I'd have to get the RCA Studio II, Bally Astrocade, and Emerson Arcadia 2001.

Any thoughts?

That was about where I was at before I foisted the Channel F and Vectrex off on you.

You see what my opinion of the idea was.

I'm pretty wild about the 2nd gen. I even play VIC-20 / Tandy / TI-99 games. Still looking out for an Atari 8-bit computer.

Yeah I can't do early 2nd gen. I enjoy my Colecovision occasionally because of nostalgia (I had my brother's growing up, he got it instead of Atari because it was the better system... of course much like Beta/VHS, better doesn't always equal successful) and bust out my Atari 2600/5200(Yeah... I kept one of them)/7800 as well as the Intellivision more for curiosity's sake or for my friends who have nostalgia. But the pre-2600 systems I can't handle.

My sweet spot is late-2nd (NES/SMS) and 3rd gen. Mostly because nostalgia.

That's my sweet spot too.

Though I feel more at home playing something like Atari 2600 vs. Xbox One.

It doesn't.

Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War keeps getting better and better. Every chapter has a level of care put into them that keeps astounding me every time. There are secret weapons, crazy enemy combinations, unique powers and a lot of context-sensitive dialogue, enemies react differently depending on who is attacking them.

For example, the captain of the mercenary knights of Thracia asks not to judge him too harshly when he first attacks one of your units, as he claims it's just his job. But if he attacks Sigurd (The main character), the honorability façade drops and he insults him, calling him weak and pathethic.

It's surpassing all my expectatives, it's one of the best games I've played in a really long time.

The more I think about it the more I realize that more RPG music needs vocals by Ian Gillan.

I'm going to try and beat some 2014 releases I missed out on before xmas. Got Titanfall, Wolf Among Us, Freedom Planet and Shovel Knight all lined up after I'm done with South Park.
