Time Crisis arcade foot pedal restoration

Post by s8n »

hi RB members , im thinking of grabbing one next year and wiring it to a PS controller and playing TC's on my Astro.

i know if you connect a PS controller to the controller port you can step on it and you will hide/reload , but im thinking it would be great if i can use a real pedal pulled from the arcade

as you can see they have some wear , others ive seen on the bay are in better condition even though id like to restore it paint wise.

ive got a Dremel and ive seen EZ Sanding Discs , ive never resprayed to attempt to restore something back to factory like condition.

i watch that show on TV ' American Restoration ' the Coke machines look great

what are RB members suggestions

btw cleaning up the metal where your foot presses down would be great too.............

Strip it down and do light coats of metal paint with light sandings between - I would use the dremel for the strip down and hand sanding for the other coats. Then after a dozen coats or so, give it a gel coat or a sealant.

What colour are you going to paint it? If you are going with the same color red, or a darker color. I would just sand it down some. A step passed roughing it up but before you see metal.
