Mind reader. :P I just was thumbing through wikipedia reading up on Type0 and 15. I forgot all the bs that Square did for a time where they had those plans for the Fabula Crystal Novalis setup with Agito and the rest and this game is what ended up churning out of that in the back end originally meant for mobile(dead) and PSP (JP only.) The fact that it is already out it has a full plot summary, gameplay mechanic, and character run down and it looks pretty interesting (even has the FF13 l'cie in it too.) I think this could be a pretty solid game and it's more action-rpg oriented like FF13 and PSP Crisis Core(which I liked more than FF7 that inspired it.)

FF15 sounds interesting too with the story elements that are currently known, yet I am curious how they'll work out the mandatory sleeping or you perform poorly mechanic with a 30day(real time) clock for a 24 hour in game day.

Sounds interesting but easily botchable and will likely be resented by most gamers(bro-gamers/super twitch addicts) as "too slow progress!!! needs more action and less real life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!1". Actually I'm going to call that one and I don't doubt it will happen in some way or another

I can't imagine the time mechanic going over well. It didn't in Dead Rising that's for certain and that doesn't seem nearly as prominent as this does, considering it was designed for multiple playthroughs. I loved it though.

Yeah like i said i'm going ahead and calling it that it won't go over well...I can just imagine the "bro-gamers" and "twitch addicts" buying it and returning in droves saying it progresses way too slow and not enough action or some mess like that(now though I wouldn't laugh if someone was able to hack the clock on the system and get around the time mechanic to some extent)

On the topic of Final Fantasy. Has anyone played Type-0 on the PSP? They are coming out with the HD version for PS4 and one of the videos for it peeked my interest. I want some opinions from people who've actually played the game.

Bro gamers have nothing to do with it. RPGs in general have never instituted a time mechanic where you have to make your party sleep overnight or end up being tired, weaker, and easier to abuse by the in game monsters. That's kind of shitty really and a concern of mine. I don't remember an RPG doing that before. It's like that terrible move they did with GTA San Andreas where if you didn't run every day or two in game you got a spare tire, got winded, and couldn't run for crap basically forcing you to setup an in game fitness routine so you could play well. At some point people need to realize games are just that and don't need too much reality thrown into it.

Depends a lot on how it gets implemented. Putting that limitation in also means they can provide ways to work around it in-game (food/meds, spells, etc), or just use it to add a sense of scale or scope.
I kind of doubt it'll mean sitting there 10 out of every 30 minutes watching the clock tick by. Sounds more like you'll do stuff, then camp to tally XP and do other management. Probably will wind up being at least like the flow of Bioware games (do mission, return to base/ship to talk to team, repeat).

Beyond that, you've had similar (on paper) sounding systems in, say, some Metal Gear Solid entries, where stamina/psyche has to be kept up. Obviously, in that, you aren't taking time out to sleep, but it does mean eating/drinking just because time is passing. In turn, it also gives potential strategy to use - draining a boss's stamina to KO them in applicable MGS games is usually the harder route, netting a benefit like a costume or weapon.
Maybe fighting certain FFXV mobs for in-game days on end will be the way to beat them because it'll tire them out too.

To me it would be wiser if they moved it to say 3/8ths time instead of full on real time like tanooki said because that still sounds like a pain to have to let it rest(especially if you have a jacked up schedule like mine being a night stocker :P ) could just be me though thinking about that...

It's not real time. An in-game day is about 30 minutes real time, which is shorter than most MMO day/night cycles.
