Hori Stick: 360 or PS3 version for Windows Use?

I want to get a Hori Pro stick for my PC.
I don't have a XB360 or PS3, nor do I plan on getting one anytime soon.

So the question is, which one should I get? The PS3 one is cheaper...

I'd go with the PS3 one, unless you have a need for a good PS2 stick, in which case I'd pick up a HRAP2 instead with a USB adaptor (that's what I have). Maybe even a HRAP2 SA if you want sanwa buttons but don't feel like putting them in yourself. I know the HRAP2 is really easy to exchange buttons on, so I'd think the HRAP3 isn't much different. There's really nothing wrong with the stock buttons, i used my stock HRAP buttons in a saturn stick after I replaced them, but sanwas are a bit better. Hell, I have HAPP convex buttons in my HRAP2, I like the "clicky" feeling.

you really can't go wrong no matter what route you go; you're getting a good sanwa joystick and HORI buttons (except the HRAP2 SA which has sanwa buttons). Should you ever need to upgrade the buttons, it's easy as pie, and there is a very easy hardware mod to shorten the throw on the joystick and make it feel more like a seimitsu. I just got around to doing the joystick mod on my sanwa's, and they're way more responsive. I did not tape the shaft, just shimmed the inside of the microswitches. see

I also recommend an octagonal gate, but thats personal preference. I don't like the square gate that comes in sanwa JLF joysticks (which is what comes in the HORI's). You can get a new ocatgonal gate at lizardlick.com for like 5 bucks, it easily snaps into place with four clips.

They are both wired.
Racket - I think they both work fine on PCs. If you get the 360 one you'll need a driver which is very easily obtained. Glad to see you're getting a pro. I have an HRAP2 SA and an HRAP3. I also have the cheaper Hori 360 stick and the pros are a LOT nicer. Mine were all imported and kind of expensive but well worth it. As cheap as they are from Amazon nowadays there is no reason not to get an HRAP!
