there's a little sad piece of me that has always wanted a Pippin haha.

Speaking of DirectX, 12 has been announced as being included w/ Win10. Although 11 was released on Win7, I'm guessing that 12 will not be. Wondering if we'll see many games that require it?

so supposedly 10's official reveal is next month. Who's messed around w/ the beta build? As much as I loathed 8, I'm keeping an eye on 10 because of the possibility of DX12 being exclusive.

I just really hope it is not in the monthly fee format that is being rumored.

I had not heard this rumor. That would be horrible.

I think the monthly fee format is simply one option being floated.

I am not to much of a tech guy. I grew up on 3.1 , 95 and 98. I use vista now and like it. What I am trying to say is that I just don't understand all these new releases when they all do the same stuff to me.

my first Windows was 3.1 as well. I also had 95, 98, 2000, ME, XP (skipped Vista) and then 7... then 8... then 7 again. 7 has been my favorite for a long ass time. If you're still rocking Vista, I'd be a little nervous about the lack of security updates, but that's just me. But to get to yr question - the only real reason I'd care about upgrading to 10 is if in fact DirectX 12 is exclusive to 10 - because that could actually have an impact on gaming.

Vista still gets security updates. It's in extended support for another 2.5 years. There are no new features to be had, but security updates are still forthcoming.

Looks like Microsoft has a new browser in the works for Windows 10. http://www.pcworld.com/article/2863878/ ... lorer.html

Sadly I'll probably stuck supporting IE at work for at least the next decade. :x
