My little brother was watching with me. And he was very happy to see Sting live for the first time. Before that, he just watched YouTube clips of him and listened to some stories I told him.
He's genuinely excited to see more Sting, not so much more WWE.
I think Sting made the right choice.
He was going to come back a while ago, but I think he was afraid of being an average guy in the WWE. Now, with the injuries they have, there's actually more than enough room for Sting.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
By all accounts Sting did very well for himself in WCW (Hell for a whole year he got paid to not wrestle and sulk in the arena rafters) and invested his money wisely and is financially very secure.RCBH928 wrote:
Sting really should have enough money in a way that he doesn't need to do this. He was one of the top stars of the attitude era along with Hogan and Steve Austin. He really should be a multi-millionaire by now.
If anything his decision to join WWE it is to cement his legacy as a true icon who worked for THE major wrestling company, not just the money. The contract and licensing and such future revenues obviously play a part, but Sting could have retired very comfortably if he chose to do so.

Good post.
In the end, there's a ton of WWF/E fans who love Sting, but just didn't love WCW or TNA.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
isn't he too old to wrestle any ways? He is only 6 years younger than Hulk Hogan, who was supposed to retire in '93.
I remember he used to wrestle with a shirt on 5 years ago or so in TNA

I don't watch pro wrestling, but I stopped by to comment that CM Punk has signed with the UFC and wants to try to pull a Brock Lesnar and fight in MMA.
Man, everyone thinks he's gonna get crushed.
It's kinda funny that he held the heavyweight title in WWE, given that he's tiny. He will try to fight at 185 or even 170 lbs.

Supposedly the Green Power Ranger called him (CM Punk) out.

Should be funny, I'm down.
Re: The Wrestling Thread
he's gonna get his head caved in. already in an interview he's stated, not sure what weight he'll fight at, not sure where he'll train, never sparred with anybody remotely experienced in striking, and the one thing people keep bringing up for a plus for him (his brazilian jiu-jitsu) he admits his training has been off and on and he's a white belt. good luck bro lol.jfrost wrote:I don't watch pro wrestling, but I stopped by to comment that CM Punk has signed with the UFC and wants to try to pull a Brock Lesnar and fight in MMA.

Dana White is as much a carny as Vince it is - it's a good business move. He'll draw buys.

it's all about the $$$. at least lesner did have an elite wrestling foundation to not get embarrassed. but in my eyes he really didn't look all that great either.
