It's been getting slaughtered in reviews. Makes we want to play it.
I bought it but haven't played it yet. Reviews all said the game could be good but it is "too hard". That makes me want to beat it out of spite against the candy assed "game critics" that permeate this industry.
I don't own the game yet but i have heard some people saying that those reviews are due to the reviews simply not understanding how the game plays and failing because of that.

It's supposedly not all that hard once you realize how you are suppose to play it.

This has indeed been my assumption on the matter. It's like back in the day when people thought Vagrant Story was hard, but if you understood its weapon creation system and combat mechanics its actually an easy game.

I definitely got that feeling back when i first tried playing Vagrant Story! i'd heard so much about how affinity was important when leveling up the weapons, and yet i was still doing less than 5 damage with each strike, and trying to do ridiculous chains to damage bosses. It wasn't until i started focusing on type instead that i learned i could actually take out major enemies in only a few short chains. The last boss on my first complete run was actually slightly underwhelming because of that.

Now that you guys have said this, i might actually give Natural Doctrine a go- it sounds pretty unforgiving of those who don't take the time to learn its idiosyncrasies, which is just the way i like it!

Meanwhile, in Euroland, for those with a casual interest in fighting games, today's "12 deals of Christmas" deal on PSN is pretty good:

Street Fighter X Tekken for 8.99EUR / 7.39GBP / 13.45AUD!

Definitely going to pick it up tonight after work!

Thank youuuu EA for giving away Need for Speed: Most Wanted. Its probably crap, but at least I'll have something to play in the car for the 5 hour drive north for Christmas (to see family).

I wouldn't say it's crap, I've owned it for quite a while(I think i bought it soon after I got the vita or soon after getting my job with harris teeter), and I've enjoyed it. Too bad when they finally get it on a decent portable for them, they decide to walk away from the portable market on that series. It really is a good game once you get the hang of it...at least that's the way it felt(I crashed so many times but usually ended up laughing at the ways I crashed until I finally started getting good)

That's a relief to hear. I just sorta assumed its crap since I don't think I've played a NFS game I've enjoyed since the PS2. I only happened to grab this one because its free heh.

Yeah in the same boat but only because my church happened to have that ps2 nfshp2 in the mix of games(odd but whatever ) for us to play on the ps2 they have. I really enjoyed it so I thought what the heck and picked that up from gamestop back when I did. I can safely say I'm glad EA didn't screw it up somehow

Most Wanted on Vita is excellent! Criterion oversees NFS now and they are great!
