Actually when I was a kid I had an unofficial "Mario Maker" style game on the TI-86. I created one level that was nothing but a giant chasm with Bullet Bills shooting back and forth. You had to hop on them to reach the goal.

Actually getting a bit more excited about it.
HOLY CRAP, THEY DID IT?

Holy crap, I kept saying that would be amazing!

SMB2 would be cool too, but perhaps that would be weird since it didn't have the normal enemy types and such.
Where did this info come from?
This was one of the first things they showed at the Video Game Award show last night. This put me into a state of actual excitement for the title as, in all honesty,I wasn't too stoked to begin with.

Damn. Honestly, I think I could spend all of 2015 playing Mario Maker and nothing else. I can't wait for it to come out!

This sums up some of my thoughts:

I for one have never minded linearity in my Zelda. But Nintendo never really fails me and the Wii U is rocking it, so I'm really optimistic about it.

One thing I can say for sure, is that I'm absolutely loving the looks of it. Pretty much Skyward Sword but in true HD, definitely what I wanted. Very colorful and vibrant.

Nintendo are finally doing pretty well with online stuff, so I hope that's a main focus with Mario Maker. Being able to check out and rate others levels, etc. I wonder if people will make full "campaigns". I've already thought it'd be awesome to remake some classic romhacks, like SMB3 Challenge. Man I am so stoked!

Ooooh boy, another Zelda game like Wind Waker, where instead of sailing for minutes at a time to your next destination, you can ride your horsey instead. It looks pretty...pretty lifeless. The horse controls itself to the point where the two of them are chatting and making jokes about how the game is so "accessible" that they can play it while doing something else.

Please make it stop.
