So if I were to leave kansas...
Re: So if I were to leave kansas...
Sounds like depression has hit you pretty hard Moz. I've been there too, and it's a long hard slog to get out of it. I wish I had some great advice for you, but life is a bitch. There's not a lot you can do when your neurotransmitters are conspiring against you. But a change of scenery is absolutely a good idea, and can do a lot to get you out of a funk at least for a little while. Then, either you develop coping habits, or you do it all over again. I manage to get by with copious amounts of marijuana, and a girl at home who loves me. Maintaining those is all (well most of, usually..) the motivation I need to make it through the week. You need to go find something that will keep you going. I don't know what it is, but I know you won't regret trying to find it.

Yeah right. Mozgus would be in the UK 5 minutes before getting slapped with an ASBO.

If you dig the texas deal, try austin. Young crow, probably geeky, great music scene. I'd recommend NO but I got a feeling that you wouldn't be a fan of all the tourists... and all the jackasses and crime and crappy politicians... There's a growing young crowd out in the french quarter. My brother got a pretty nice low cost apartment that's really spacey for a 1 bedroom deal. I don't know what your job is but we probably need it.
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

I may just move to Lawrence Kansas. Its 45 minutes away, and I know for a fact people like me will be there. It's just a very crammed place. Lotsa places to live but not a lot of jobs. The few times I've been there, its so bizarre. People look happy and they actually speak to you even though you're a stranger, which is counter to everything I'm used to.
Of course, pot smoking is pretty much a required hobby there. Somehow these people get jobs though.

We've got Amazon, Microsoft, NoA, Wizards of the Coast, Valve, and a Google division all out here (among others), which leads to a high concentration of geekdom. Not to mention PAX is held here. However, it is an expensive place to live (especially in the city itself) and many of the best jobs require college degrees.
Seattle would be an awesome place for a geek. I hope to live there myself someday. But isn't it also the most college educated large city in the United States? I thought I heard that something like 50 percent of the adults there hold at least a Bachelor's degree

My vote goes to moving in with Chrono

True. There are a ton of people in California and virtually everyone plays games at least a little bit. I can't think of a single person below the age of 50 that didn't have a somewhat recent console in their home. Games are not nearly as looked down upon as some other places and girls are often willing to play them. Just for reference's sake, within 30 minutes of my house I had 20 gaming dedicated stores. Here in Utah, when people ask me what I do I sometimes lie and tell them I have a pornography addiction. People tend to respond better to that one

Stay away from Orlando FL,
This place sucks the big one
St. Augustine is a pretty cool place though, especially if you like the beach.
