Agh, my love for rhythm games has made me want to pursue the set many times as well. There are some third party maraca sets, though I hear that they are inferior to the first party pair included in the box set. The third party controllers can be acquired for pretty cheap, but the way I see it is that you might as well go the whole nine yards and acquire the superior first party set, not to mention the sweet box it all comes in. I'm still just waiting for one to fall into my lap for the right price. I think you can get away with one for $80 or so shipped from auction as long as you avoid import shipping from a JP set.
The Cha Cha Amigo Maracas are not bad. But the Sega ones are better. I have two pairs of the Cha Chas and they worked well for the dozen times I played it. However, shortly after I got the maracas, Guitar Hero became the thing and no one wanted to play Samba De Amigo anymore. The only issue with the ChaChas is that they are bulky and cost alot to ship from Play Asia.

So last night I some how stumbled across the fact that there is a dreamcast emulator for Android... and that it works pretty well. I spent a good amount of time looking into it, and here i am, playing sonic adventure on my Galaxy s5 with a Dual Shock 3... all I can say is:

Not sure why we don't see more Dreamcast releases for consoles if its easy enough to emulate it on a cellphone. Also, Saturn still difficult to emulate?

There are quite a few works in progress on the Dreamcast right now. Pier Solar, Elysian Shadows, Ameba, Hypertension and Slave. There was also Neo XYX and Redux earlier this year. Sturmwind last year. And a smattering of other indie titles between the systems demise and now. Although more would always be great.

And I never really followed much of the Saturn emulation stuff. But from what I gathered in trying to get Battle Garegga to work a few weeks ago, there is certainly much to be desired out of the current Saturn emulators.

He meant playing DC games via emulators on other platforms. Not new games for the DC.

SSF has gotten pretty good, but even it has its problems. And the Saturn is a complicated beastie compared to a lot of systems. But just from what I've messed with, I'd say Saturn is in a better state than N64 emulation.

Or downloading them like "classics" like I can download PSX/ps2 games on my ps3. Not sure if that is considered emulating

The Saturn is quite possibly the most convoluted home console design ever made, even compared to a Sega CD with 32X attached.

That is the biggest reason the emulation of the Saturn has been such a slow slog. Also, since the majority of the work was being done by one Japanese guy. The Saturn is really the toughest to have properly emulated.

Sarge mentioned the N64 being the case and I find that ridiculous, since the N64 emulator actually improves the visual quality of the games.

Yet there are lots of compatibility and glitching problems all over the place with N64 emulation. It's definitely not as solid or fully-formed as PSX/SNES/NES/Genesis. If you stick with a lot of the mainline games, it's not very noticeable, but get outside those and you start seeing lots of problems.

I agree that it generally improves the visual quality of games, though. They look far better than they ever did on the system in most cases. I'm speaking more to emulation accuracy than I am how the games look, though.
