There is a LOT of controversy around Ubisoft right now, especially with their PC releases. UPlay is trash, too many things to list about Watch Dogs, AC:Unity being broken as hell at launch and so much more. They've become the new EA. Used to really like Ubisoft and their games but I don't think I'll be buying any of their new ones, don't feel like spending money on a buggy mess. Console gamers don't have it that bad, but PC gamers have just been screwed over time and time again by Ubi.Stark wrote:Ugh that sucks, I've had a lot of issues with UPlay with Splinter Cell: Conviction (or was it the Blacklist one?) and I haven't had much luck actually playing it.Cronozilla wrote:Frown: Attempted to start Assassin's Creed III, so I clicked on it. 15 Minutes later UPlay was done starting up. And then the game didn't load, it just stayed black.
UBISoft, I get it, the 90s were a pretty sweet time for gaming ... but waiting 10+ minutes for a PC game to load wasn't a good thing.

Am I the only one who's never really minded EA? I've never seen them of the same level as Activision or anything. Ubisoft quickly got way worse too.
It did suck in the early 2000's when they gobbled up a bunch of small devs and IP's though.

My problem with EA isn't necessarily an EA only problem - they just happen to be the symbol of buying an IP and then hyper-monetizing it in the short term at the expense of building a lasting franchise or brand.Xeogred wrote:Am I the only one who's never really minded EA? Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Can't disagree there, yeah.
I'm just glad Mass Effect or Dead Space etc didn't become the next CoD or AssCreed. When and if EA tries to pull the yearly annual releases thing on some big franchise I might like, then I'll start throwing stones.
