So what have you guys been watching lately?

Agreed.

That fake alcohol advertisement was fantastic, and I loved how they made fun of wine tasters.

I'm halfway through True Detective and so far it's kinda "meh". I mean, it's decent, but I don't yet understand all the fervor for it. Honestly the best thing about this series thus far has been the title credits intro.

On the other hand, Rainbow has been a fantastic anime series so far. Very dark, disturbing, entertaining stuff.

Been watching X-Files reruns on the El Rey network.

What a great show. Loved it as a kid. Watching it as an adult it seems a lot slower and less "scary" but still a great time. Thinking about getting the DVD set.

Full House.

A jagged pill to swallow is watching the episode where Danny turns thirty years of age. "He's soooooooo old".

Well, you could say very episode is a jagged pill, but you'd be wrong.

Then again, i remember how great Stamos still looks, so what the hey?

Still doing my two show approach:
1. Twilight Zone, now in Season 3.
2. Regular Show, now in Season 4.

Most Twilight Zone episodes are watched twice. Once for entertainment, once to study. I believe it is the greatest written TV show ever written, Rod Serling was too brilliant. He not only wrote most of the episodes, he was also the show runner, narrated them, and produced every episode.

Regular Show however is just stupid comedy on the surface, with deep references to late 80s early 90s culture. It reminds me of people I know aswell. Heck my camper is the size smaller of the Scotty that Muscle Man and Fives live in.

I really want the 3DS game based on this show. It looks awesome.

.....

My wife and I have been watching Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries on Netflix. It is excellent, and it satisfies our inexplicable desire for muder mysteries set during the jazz age. (We have been searching desperately for something ever since we finished up Poirot.) Essie Davis is (and looks) fantastic as the radically feminist main character. (With a gold-plated revolver, spectacular outfits, and a different love interest in every episode, she is much more James Bond than Hercule Poirot.) The supporting cast is also excellent, and unlike Poirot, there are plot lines that continue between each trite-but-nonetheless-fun murder mystery.

It is funny, the first time I watched an episode with my 12 year old brother-in-law, I just sat there going, "That's a reference to Big Trouble in Little China Town, that's a reference to Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots, that's a reference to the Last Starfighter, that's a reference..." and he had nooooo idea what I was talking about. Love the show though. It's a lot of fun!
