It's a little disappointing that X4 doesn't have a special thing you can unlock at the end, like the Hadoken, Shoryuken, Golden Armor, or Ultimate Armor. You can use a code for the Ultimate Armor in X4 but that doesn't feel as satisfying. The first three you have to have everything and know where to go and if you do you get a boost. Ultimate Armor in X5 requires you to do a single stage without any armor (not too difficult) so it's a little cheaper. Especially since the infinite Giga Burst means you get to infinitely air dash while invincible and doing damage. It sort of turned the rest of the game into EZ mode.

Agreed. Those are nice bonuses in the other MMX games, and while I have obtained all of them, I never really used any of them to beat the game.

Now that I have completed X4, however, I will move on to some of the later titles. (I have beaten the preceding three games multiple time; I have beaten X4 once, and I have never played any of the later titles.) I understand that they are not that great, but I am curious to see how the series played out.

Also, are any of the bosses in the subsequent games as difficult/frustrating as Alien Sigma in X4?

Totes. To me it's the perfect GTA game.
I always saw it as Friday: The Game.

No slamming of metal doors. No Chris Tucker. Chock full of sarcastic humor and way too many jokes that are missed. It's the Godfather II of the series.

And do play it on the PC. Also, but both of the soundtracks. The "regular" comes with a dvd worth watching. The "full" soundtrack is something amazing.

Nope. Should I?
From what i played them they do a good job, liberty city Stories is just another GTA but Vice does a couple of things diferent, now instead of buying houses you buy business, first you must take over the place like in san andreas, and then you can buy them and build the ilegal bussines you wish (drugs, thiefs, prostitution, etc). Still i don't think they're must plays but if you find them on the wild for cheap they are good time.

anybody who knows me knows what a big deal this is to me. Deathsmiles has been my favorite shmup pretty much from the day I first played it. And ever since it was my goal for a 1CC. This victory feels so much greater than any other 1CC I've got. It was just one of those runs that felt so easy to me. I was so in the zone. I knew by stage 3 or 4 that "yup, this is it." Jitterbug hit me once but I had nearly full life. No sweat. No concentration broken. Took out the final boss w/ only a single life left, but never worried. Felt confident the whole time. There was just never a question. I just knew I had finally put the time into it necessary to play my ass off.

Grats, amigo.

Such a great game. It's fun, it's Cave, it's cheap, and it makes me feel dirty.

It's a great value all the way around and should be 1CC'd by all.
